Last night Primetime's Diane Sawyer did an interview with Randy and his wife. It moved me to tears. I am still lost for words because it touched me so deeply.

Unless something strange is going on with Shi-Un, it is not a climber. It just appears to be growing rather tall. It is on the south side of the tree so it is getting plenty of sun. The bottom part of the bush is in the picture, and the top of it sticking out at the lower level is taller than I am. Boulie's Dream only has a light fragrance to my nose. It does have a good supply of flowers when it blooms in flushes. It also wants to get quite tall.

You might look into glazed ceramic mosaics. There used to be several companies that offered "medleys" such as what you're looking at in that pic with the glass mosaics, but I don't know if they're still available. They were big in the 80's but I think pretty much petered out. You might still find someone who carries them, though.

If anybody gives that new Hurricane spin mop a try, post back as to how it worked for you (or didn't!). There has been an infomercial on it recently. I dislike probably ever mop I've bought -- the string mop, the mop that has strips of a felt-like microfiber (like the Wonder Mop, like Libman makes), the sponge mop (I can never get the replacement sponges in easily). I don't use Swiffers anymore, but I do use a Libman Freedom Soft Mop, with the cloths you pull off the mop head and toss into the washing machine. I think his outlook on life didn't come from knowing he will die...it showed up a long time ago. Like him telling about picking up his neice and nephew in his new car and pouring the soda in the back seat.

I think his wife was really lucky to have had him as a husband. WOW what a guy.

I think he'll go on teaching long after he is gone.

That was wonderful. There are tons of videos of him, most concerning the last speech, on YouTube. And lots of info other places on the Net. I don't know how I missed knowing about him, but I did. Thanks for posting the video.

If anyone has the opportunity to somehow find and watch Diane Sawyer's Primetime special on him, it is so worth it. It was such a moving and intimate tribute to this incredible human being. I am in awe and humbled by his spirit.

I cried.
I had DH sit down and watch it, something he rarely does, but we just found out he lost his Grandpa today, and it made the whole sadness come full circle. Your timing could not have been better. Thank you.
