Finally, a couple of bun pics

I still don't have the pics from the camera downloaded, but I got smart and took a couple with my phone and emailed them to myself!

I did eventually put some icing on the cinnamon rolls!

I called my aunt and told her they came out just like I remembered them. It made her day! She said she has shared the recipe with others and they have not had any luck with them. I wonder if it's because I used lard instead of substituting butter or shortening?

They look beautiful!

I have some of AnnT's cream cheese danish dough in the fridge and her "joy of cooking" cinnamon roll dough proofing in the bucket.

Cinnamon rolls will go in 8" aluminum pans for "gifts"..and the cream cheese danishes will be ALL OURS.. :evil laugh:

Oooo! I forgot about the danish! Are they realllllly simple to make? I'm getting lazier all the time, and am getting a headache to go with the ear ache. It hasn't hurt all day, but the sun is going down so the air pressure is going to change and make it hurt. So I am not going to want to fuss much.

I got in some F. Nitida from Vandusen Seed Collectors for a decent price. And they are very viable. I had several of them germinate in under 2 weeks. The seeds were collected last September I beleive. They're still only about 3 weeks old if that, but looking very healthy. I have a pic on the link below. mantis: Tomorrow I plan to go and count the number of fans, scapes and budcount. I love the bloom so it isn't going anywhere even if it gave me heartburn this year. We have 2 cameras. My husband has a Canon Rebel XT with all the bells and whistle plus the telephoto lens that has IS. I just use the dial that points to the flower icon with auto focus, adjust the telephoto lens to the closeup I want, focus and shoot. I'm not really that technical with changing settings with allowing more or less light or changing the speeds. My camera is a Canon SD800 IS which is the nice handy small size point and shoot. Oh yeah, it has all these things you can do to change settings and speed and what not but I like to use auto function. That is one I could actually do the white card/paper trick and not get off balance. I switch between the cameras but mainly use the larger Canon. I like the distance of the telephoto lens so you don't have to step into the garden beds to snap a photo. The white card trick was told to me my a long time member of the forum Jan (tweetype). I do miss her posts on the forum. Probably more than everyone needs to know LOL. Julia

LOL NHB! Well now I'm looking for something fancy schmancy to hold our chalk - thanks for the suggestion! Your Buns look great. lol!!!

Your cinnamon rolls look like my Sinbuns, when they are ready for the oven.
You could also do this.

All the Gooey, Sin stuff is on the bottom.
Did you ever make Cinnamon Buns ??? Very easy!!!
Think they call them Sticky Buns out there.

Tami, beautiful buns. I bet your aunt was thrilled.

The danish are very easy to make. And they freeze well.

Tami, those buns look perfect, I'm glad they were just as you remembered and I agree with Ann, your Aunt must have been tickled that her recipe was successfully handed down to someone in the family.

The danish is drop-dead easy, it doesn't even need to be kneaded, it just sits in the refrigerator and waits for me. I make it even easier because I use the cream cheese filling and then top that with homemade jam, so I don't even have to make fruit filling!

Super easy to make Tami.

I baked them off this morning.

2 just cream cheese, 2 with jam..one with raspberry and one with cherry..

I'll give the danish a try, but not until I go to the store again. I'm out of cream cheese, tho I could probably use jam, but I really don't need the extra sugar!

Lou, My aunt told me how to do the sticky buns, too, but thanks for the suggestion! I do need to add more butter to make them really good the next time I do the cinnamon rolls.

Tami...who just had smothered pork chops, green beans and stuffing, but is still hungry. Guess I shouldn't have come from the table to the CF!
