The only thing I've done with them is that I put big plastic bows on them and pile them in a Santa wagon I put on my front patio at Christmas. They look like Christmas gifts and don't get messed up in the wind, rain or snow at Christmas. Mine are big tins (like the ones pre-popped popcorn comes in. Oh, I've also seen where people cut them up with tin snips and use the colorful pieces to cover things like a photo frame or the frame of a mirror or bulletin board. Be careful, of course, because the edges are really sharp when you cut them up. Let me tell you that if I saw pictures of my DH in bed with another woman, even fully clothed, he'd have lots of explaining to do. But, after finding these pics and seeing as how she was hiding her phone and finding out why....I'd just wait it out and see what her future and current behavior is. If she has plans, meetings or outings that are out of norm for her, I'd check those out. If her appearance changes as far as weight, hairdo, clothing...I'd look into the reasons why. If she went looking elsewhere because you're stubborn and a non- talker, then change your style because it ain't working for you. If you want things to work, then you both need to meet in the middle. She may have slept with this man. but if she did and you love her and don't want to lose her then just deal with it. It may have been just a fling to prove that someone else found her attractive because you didn't make her feel that way. if she's got what she wants at home, she won't go looking elsewhere. Hope it works out for you.

Bump! Thought it might be a good time to bump this. Tomorrow I have some nieces coming over to bake & decorate cookies with me. They are 12 & 14, the babies out of 17 nieces and nephews. I am grateful they still want to bake with Aunt Becky. So today its been a flurry of activity to take down Thanksgiving and put up Christmas. Right now I have gingerbread cookie dough, linzer cookie dough, and almond cookie dough in the frig chillin'! I have the ingredients out to make the dough for sugar cookies too.. Last year I could not bake fast enough to keep up with the cookie decorating crew, but I have a couple less coming tomorrow. It'll be a sad day for me when the nieces outgrow this. In the meantime, I'll enjoy the moment. Happy Baking!

If you have big ones like popcorn ones they work well for magazines, storing balls, dog or cat toys etc on the patio. Most cookie tins are not the best metal for outside use so will last better if sealed inside & out with couple of coats of Krylon clear sealer (spray it on),even then they would do best on covered porch,I used popcorn tin for dad to store birdseed in as the cover keeps critters out of it. Dry dog food could be in couple of them also. If you have grandkids might put some collections in some, seashells, rocks you picked up on a walk with the kids, colored "seaglass" or small stones with holes in them you find by a lake. A collection of seed pods, dried pine cones or other small dried things that you might be able to sit down with the kids & glue them onto a wooden plaque you made so they can take their creation home & hang it on their wall. Use a small pic. hanger, 1 of those with saw teeth & 2 little nails, do that 1st & then stain the wood(depending on ages they could help or you could pre-do that. Glue on sea shells, rocks, little dried things. If you use dried seeds & pods & pinecones its best to put them on a cookie sheet & in oven about 20 min. at 200 degrees to kill off any little bugs inside, can also use nuts in shell left over at Christmas & bake them for 20 min. also. Can spray your finished project & start saving up for more "projects" Maybe each of kids would like to have a tin of their own to take home & another for their own glue, colors etc. at grandma's. Neighbor kids might like their own "treasure" tin or you could offer some to your church, they are great in classrooms in younger grades for passing colors around.(Boxes of colors tend to get messed up & colors broken as kids try to "force the colors" back in the box. I just dump 3-4 boxes of crayons in the tin & kids can quickly find color they want. Of course the collections could be things you like to collect, things you find on walks, at beach,bleached out small bones, odd shaped twigs, rock that looks like a frog or snail, lady bug, etc. with just a bit of paint(for eyes, spots, coil of black for snail), if you like to paint. I made lovely plaques 1 year for my relatives & I still see them. You clean them couple of times a year with damp rag to get dust off & damp small artist brush to get in places you can't reach. I've even made sticker ball(from liquid amber tree I think) & old nuts glued onto a fruitwood stained plywood round to make a candle holder for a 4-5 in thick candle. So tins are great for storing things until ready to use. Good Luck! Jan

Annie-- my cuccidati dough's still frozen, ran out of time before the out of town kids came for our family celebration & wanted to give them their cookie tins ( so guess I'll have a NYears treat ).They're a good one to hoard for yourself, Annie.

Tracey-- my favorite cookie is the cuccidati I haven't made yet this year, of those I did favorite is the pecan snowballs.

Diane's Home Cookin Chapter: Cookies

Chocolate Sour Cream Drops
==========================
2 eggs
1 cup sugar
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon Vanilla
1 cup dairy sour cream
Â½ c. butter or margarine, melted
Â½ c. shortening, melted
2 Â½ cup flour
1 cup cocoa
1 teaspoon Baking powder
Â½ tsp. Baking soda
1 cup chopped walnuts -optional
. . Preheat oven to 325 Â°-grease cookie sheets.

Cream eggs, sugar & vanilla. Blend in sour cream, butter & shortening.
Combine flour,cocoa, baking powder and baking soda-add to sugar
mixture. Stir in nuts if using. Drop by tablespoonfuls onto greased
sheet. Bake 12 min or until just set-cool slightly ;remove from sheet
to wire rack until cooled completely.

makes 4-5 dz.

* add 1 tbsp espresso power to dry ingred for Espresso cookie-- frost
with glaze made using coffee as liquid ingred.

Cream Cheese Cinnamon Swirls

from Taste of Home

1 cup butter, softened
1 8-ounce pkg cream cheese, softened
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup sugar
2 teaspoons cinnamon
. In a large bowl beat the butter, cream cheese, and vanilla until
fluffy. Combine the flour and salt and gradually beat it into the
butter mixture.

Divide dough in two and wrap each tightly in plastic wrap. Chill for 1
hour. Combine cinnamon and sugar and set aside.

On a lightly floured surface, roll each portion into a rectangle -
about 1/4 inch thick. Spread the sugar mixture to within 1/2 inch of
the edge. Roll up tightly - starting at either the short or long edge.
Wrap log tightly and re-chill for 30 minutes.

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Slice logs into 3/8 inch slices and place two inches apart on a lightly
greased baking sheet. Bake for 14-16 minutes, or until lightly browned.
Cool on a wire rack.
