Barb, I just wipe mine on the inside with a damp paper towel then fluff them open and let them dry before I put them away in the drawer. I probably use them more than the box directions say but you can tell when it time to toss them out and get a new one. I think they last a long time if you keep them clean and dry. I did take a sharpie and write on them for different vegetables but I donÂt always stick to that. I found I can clean a whole romaine, tear it up, give it a spin in the salad spinner and it will keep really good for about 3 days without getting wilted.

I use the same brand - and they take a beating - sometimes a slimey beating :)
I do nothing special, sometimes using clips to close them. I wash them out really well, inside and out, and hang them to try with a clothes pin on a coat hanger (usually inside out) and reuse. I have been using the same box for over a year. I've only thrown away 1 bag that I can remember, and I have to admit, it was because of the "science experiment" growing inside it - yuk! I am amazed at how they keep the veggies fresher longer. The key is to make sure they are dry really well before going into the bag.

I also rinse mine out, then dry them on the handy/dandy plastic bag dryer that Peppi sent me, it stays on my dryer all the time.

I've used mine many, many times, and they are still just fine.

Same here. Rinse well (a little soap if they're really yucky) and hang on the handy dandy dryer that Bri got me!! :-)

Ditto. I rinse them out, *dry with a roll of paper towels, put on handy/dandy plastic bag dryer that Peppi sent me. I keep used green bags in the cripser drawer in the refrig for convenience and to remind me to use them.

I found some "yellow" bags that are suppose to do a better job. I can't report back yet as I've only had them a few weeks but preliminary usage indicates that they might last longer.

*To dry all bags, I use a roll of paper towels that has about 1/4 of the towels left on the roll. I keep it in the pantry and when I need to dry a bag, I stick the mostly used roll of towels in the bag and move it around to aborb the moisture. I put the roll back in the pantry and it dries out by the next time I need to use it.

I picked up some of the yellow bags, Forever Bags, at Tuesday MorningÂs but havenÂt tried them yet. They are much heavier that the Debbie Myers bags and at $3.99 a box of 16 a lot cheaper. I tried the Debbie Myers bread bags and wasnÂt impressed they are too big for the loaves I bake and bread doesnÂt last long enough at my house to get old and moldy anyways.
