No oops yet, it's only a little after 8pm in California. I'm making a pancake breakfast in the morning for a few of the family before church, so I'd better be up in time!

So far I haven't had one, but I've had co-workers show up and hour early or an hour late because of the time change.

Way back in the ancient times of PCs, it was Windows 95 or maybe 98 that had a time change glitch. In the fall, when it came time to set the clock back 1 hour, the Windows OS would do this automatically at midnight or later, say 1:00 am. An hour later, it would pass the witching hour and again set the clock back one hour. LOL. It would continue to do this until the computer was shut down. Naturally, the next time the computer was started, the clock would be in error. This did not cause many problems UNLESS you were performing backups based on the time stamp on the files. This problem was fixed in later versions of Windows.

This leads to another problem I had with erroneous time stamps on files. Late one night, our tired IT guy was performing maintence and backups on out company's system. He inavertently forgot about passing through midnight, and set the computer's clock to the wrong day, one day late. The next morning, I did a little computing work on some of my files, then decided to make a backup copy. Of course, I instructed the backup utility to save the latest copy, i.e., over-write the older copy. Yep! The morning's work had yesterday's date on them so they got replaced with stuff that had yesterday afternoon's date/time stamp.

I did that twice the year my husband died. I guess my time was sort of mixed up then anyway, but went to church at wrong times, both spring and fall.

My daughter has baby sitting job today. She overslept and/or forgot to set her alarm clock. I woke her up and she rushed out at 9:15 for a 9 am job. At ten oclock I heard her alarm ringing.

Glenda, back in 1973 when I was just a kid.:)..I went to Church a whole hour early. I thought the Rapture had come and I was left behind. LOL! Finally one of the Deacan's showed up early and I ran up and hugged him. He got a big laugh.

It seems like every year I see someone at church come in about 1/2 thru or later with a really surprised look on their face. We chalk it up to a Daylight savings time mistake! lol

I grew up in Hawaii, (where they didn't participate in DST) then moved to Virginia when I was 8. I didn't understand what in the world people were talking about-moving clocks ahead or behind?

The longest walk of my life was down the parking lot aisle going to work one Sunday morning. I was actually afraid and walking extremely slowly. I couldn't figure out why the mall lot was so full of cars before the mall opened. I was 19 and working in a restaurant. When I got inside, there was a line a block long at the restaurant door, which was common for us but still, why so early??? Got inside and my boss laughed at the look of horror on my face. It finally occurred to me.

I can't figure out why you were an hour early. Are you sure you weren't an hour late?

I'm wondering that too Ivamae. Seems to me you would have been an hour late, as in the spring you turn you clocks ahead.

I was saying that I WAS an hour late. I had forgotten all about daylight savings time so I didn't set my clock forward. For me it was 10am, but it was actually 11am, and the restaurant opened at 11. Expressing my thoughts at the time (for that moment), I couldn't figure out why the parking lot was so full and why they were backed up at the door so early. It occurred to me when my boss laughed at me.

My son called this morning,Mom what are you doing?? Me laying here in bed deciding what i'll do today.Son,you're still in bed,me yes,it's only 7:00!! Son,no mom it's 9:03~~~~~~~~~~~~~~What,how did that happen?? I must have been half asleep when i thought i fixed my clock last night,because it was 2 hours behind.Glad i didn't have to go to work or anything.
