Polish meatballs with chicken, mushrooms, sauerkraut

I'm addicted! Worse, I've turned half the folks at work onto these delightful croquette/meatball thingees from a nearby farmers market -- so they make me share. And at $4 per, we can't afford our habit. So I'm hoping someone can help me with a recipe or some guidelines.

It's a slightly larger than golf-ball size, shredded chicken, mushrooms and I think some sauerkraut, with a nugget of a cheddar in the center. They are dipped in egg and flour, or maybe rolled in bread crumbs and fried. OMG are they excellent!

I think he calls them "pil-OH-nee" but I hesitate to guess how that's spelled in Polish.

Does this ring a bell with anyone? I don't mind experimenting to get them right, but I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction!
