I made one for my jack russell ,she loves to get under blankets.I just used a varigated yarn in baby colors and did it in a little granny squares.Its adorable.

Oh my Bulldinkie that must be cute - bjosc that's what I would do, or just make a crocheted dish cloth to the size you are looking for.
This is the last one I made, excuse it's shape and the chinese food on it's edge, it's in use at the sink at the moment.

Betty Jo, a suggestion for your new step granddaughter. I love to crochet the basinette purse including a dolly and crocheted pillow and blanket for little girls. I have trouble finding a little dolly to fit the basinette, so lately I have been using a little Care Bear. I match the trim on the purse to the color of the bear. Someone on here referred me to the online pattern, so if you google it, you should be able to find it. It is great for using up scraps of yarn, and little girls do love their basinette purse.

If you know how to make a Granny square just keep on crocheting and then when it is as big as you want stop. I've done this for grownups and made all the dogs in the family their own squares over time.

When my grandaughter Taylor was little she had a crocheted baby blanket that she carried everywhere...It was always dragging on the floor, getting caught in the car door...all those things. She didn't sleep under it...she just hung on to it.

So I thought I'd be smart and make her a small one (doll size) I bought varigated bright neon colors..I thought she'd love it.

I just double crocheted rows until I got it to the size I wanted then crocheted a scallop around the edge.

She hated it...would have nothing to do with it..LOL..and it took me a loooong time.

After she got a little older she used it for her dolly's...but she never was much into dolls until she got old enough for Barbies.
