Omigosh, I want to dive through the screen and take a bite. Gorgeous! I've never even attempted to make them, but the search is on for cannoli shells first thing tomorrow. Don't think I have any Amaretto on hand, though. Should I get that, too, or do you think Grand Marnier would work as well?

Good golly gracious!! I almost swooned when I saw that photo, and again when I read that you coated the inside of the shells, etc etc....

I think Gran Marnier would be delicious. I have also just used almond extract.

Someday I want to try making the shells. I do not deep fry but I might someday. The purchased shells are fine but I think fresh is always best.

It was a fun treat to take to an appreciative group. This party has been going on for years and I am a new comer, just year 2 for me. Maybe they'll have me come again!

OK Now just cut out all the cannoli talk! Can't you show a little respect for a girl on Weight Watchers?

OH, MY GOSH! That looks absolutely delish. I have never even seen a "live" cannoli around here, I don't know why. But we don't have a real Italian restaurant here, it is Italian right? Of course, by the looks of it, that might be the safest thing for my diet!

Those look beautiful. I love the idea of coating the inside with chocolate!

I must give credit where it is due. The idea for coating the insides of the cannoli with chocolate came from Lucyny on the "different cannoli recipe" thread. I was only able to do so with the use of the mini spatula sent to me in a swap by Dishesdone a while back. It is the perfect size for spreading a coating of melted chocolate inside a cannoli shell.

I have NEVER had Cannoli..and I've always wanted too..I haven't tried making it myself..but since you all mentioned the sugar cone thing..I might try that.when I decide to eat wheat again..until then..I might just have to atleast make a rice flour crepe or something..or just make the filling and eat that!!!

I've never seen or tasted cannoli but they definitely look very dangerous! I bet they are heavenly though!

Eileen, those look like they should be in a fine Italian restaurant:-) You did an amazing job. I love cannolis too, but since I tend to be fry-phobic, I eat the filling and (reluctantly) usually leave the shell. Love the pistachios, it's a pretty and delicious touch!
