Fiona. We just got her last weekend from a "No Kill Facility". I forgot how much I miss having a pet in the house...

Material gifts I received and am grateful for: A good knife. It is actually a big cleaver and cuts through things like they're butter. Some good cookies Washington's Secret Six a book about some unrecognized spies who helped win the revolutionary war. It is supposed to restore your faith in the goodness of people. A shawl made out of bamboo fibers An 8x10 photo my son took of my dog A card from my brother Going to The Hunger Games with my husband and daughter on Christmas day and later going to the Chinese buffet The whole day was good. No tension. Hugs. Nice.

Jim, in Canada, we get WAYYY overcharged for things here. The price that was on this palm and the Spindle was $100 each. But, we got them for $50 each. Topher, I assume that you mean the washie that we moved in May 2006 to the middle of the yard. Well, last year it put on something like 5 large fronds and hit about 7 foot tall. BUT, I had a little accident this fall, whiich was totally my fault for forgetting to do something. That something was, no, those somethings were: 1) mount the blow dryer (heater) properly, don't just leave it hanging 2) install a 15 amp service onto the 35 amp that was feeding that area. So, what happened was that because I didn't mount the dryer properly (forgot) it moved to the plastic and its air intake got blocked. It burned up. BUT, because I had also forgotten to install a 15amp fusebox. So the dryer not only burned up, but the wires melted and continued to burn/glow whatever. So like what I guess is about 1 or 2 weeks later when I noticed black on the plastic, I figured it was black fungus. It's when I finally opened things up to check on their condition, that I saw what had happened. Of course, the black was the smoke and of course, it covered the entire inside and all the palms. On this Washy, all of its outter fronds where singged so I had to cut them off. Also, due to this little mishap, the palms inside expereinced -12C (10F). But this washie and the other large one, on their first year, also experienced -8C (18F), which I think only cold hardened them. So the -12C seems to have had a good effect on the palms in that structure, because the washy has already opened up a fresh new large frond. I was shocked (sorry, no pun intended). LOL The other palms, in pots inside the structure, are also putting on new growth. So, you'll understand if I hold off on posting that picture for a bit! ROFL! ;) Of course, I will post a pic when we remove the protection, which I hope might be in 2-3 weeks IF THIS FREAKY WEATHER settles down! Geeze! -8C (18F) this morning... last year at this time, we has like 10C (50F). :)

Linda, he's beautiful. Ashley adopted a German Shepherd too, his name was Rex. He gets called everything anyway, as my family is wont to do, mostly he gets called "Doofus". Buster, of course, has become the WonderDoodle. The WonderWeiner was Actually "Annie's Lucky in Love", his name was supposed to be "Lucky", but he became WeinerDog, then WeinerKing, then Wonderweiner. Cooper has become Noops, my neice called him "nooper" but I mostly call him "baby" I think you should name him whatever you want, although I also like Bullet, being a Roy Rogers/Trigger fan, LOL. He's beautiful and I'm happy for both of you. Ann T, I didn't know you'd gotten another dog after Stetson, I'm happy for you too and I didn't really think Karen would get another dog after Captain, but she did too. Sure arjay! I bought our kitty condo from overstock and am very pleased with it. It was reasonably priced, very easy to assemble and once I attached the bobbles to it, the girls took to it immediately. They love it and use it all the time. Unlike a lot of them this is not covered in carpet, but in fleece which is great as it doesn't rip out or shred like carpet does and it's much softer.

She is beautiful. She has similar markings to my little kitten, Peggy Sue, except Peggy has short hair. How wonderful that you rescued Fiona from a shelter. I have four shelter animals.

She is beautiful.I love Calicos.I have a short haired Calico with similar markings.She has a little more white that Fiona.What color are her eyes? My Miss Patches has copper colored eyes.

Fiona reminds me of Cookie who I'd decided was going to be our second cat (we brought home Max instead, nobody wanted him). Cookie was renamed Patches by the family who adopted her :-)

Here are a few better ones. I was hard to get her to sit still the first few days, long enough to get some good photos. She was too busy checking out her new digs!
She is a VERY lovable cat. Makes DH and I wonder what took us so long to get a new cat! Neither of us realized till we got her how much we've missed having a cat.

Someone asked about the color of her eyes. Sometimes they look green and other times they look copper. Guess it depends on the light.

Beautiful, I love calicos. I have one too, only her hair is short. She has a red "L" on her face. I should have named her LaVerne. My kids named her Whisper and it stuck.
