I know I probably went overboard, but I have been searching Houzz for shower/tub combos for myself if I decide to go in that direction. Most of these pictures have Master Bath titles - they tend to be small houses or apartments in large cities where space is an issue. They all have a generous sized tub. A few have extra shower bling and even a separate tub filler. All of them have material choices and the level of tile work that you see in a master bathroom. I'm sure that if I searched Houzz I could find just as many, or even more, remodels of small master baths where they have just built a walk in shower. I think the decision to do a shower/tub may be a personal choice because they want a soaking tub - since they are titled Master I'm assuming the bath is not the only bath in the house and they could easily just go with a shower. We have a Hansgrohe thermostatic. If I had seen your message earlier I would have responded with that info (sorry!). We've had it for four years and have been happy with it. (The best thing is that, if nobody changes it on you, your temp stays set from one shower to the next and you don't have to mess around with finding the right temp each time.) One quirk is that when you change the temp, first it overshoots the change for a few seconds, then comes to where you want it. But it's not a big deal. But, I have to say that we're redoing another bathroom and I'm not even bothering to get another thermostatic valve. No one has ever wanted a trickle of hot water, and we never get such a strong flow that we want to reduce it. (And there's no chance my temp will stay set there!) Anyway, enjoy!

I'd confirm the following with Delta tech support. It's an easy call and that's what they are there for. Do not be shy about calling. With some valves, you can plumb a valve outlet port to a tub spout with a "pull up" diverter on the tub spout. With the tub spout diverter pushed down water will flow out of the tub spout. Pull up the tub spout diverter and water flow up and out of the shower head. I don't know if you can do that with the T11853 valve that is in your package. Some valves have temperature control issues when they are plumbed in non-standard ways. It shouldn't be an issue, but it's worth a call to tech support. If you can plumb the valve that way, use one outlet port for the tub spout and the wall head. Use the other port for the handheld. In addition to the package you linked to, you'd have to get a tub spout with a built-in diverter. If you can't do that, ask tech support if you can do this: You should be able to swap out the T11853 valve that is in your package for the T11953 valve. The T11953 is a 3-port diverter. You should be able to use the three outlet ports to individually plumb the handheld, the wall head, and the tub spout. The T11953 and the T11853 valves might have the same trim kit, or the trims might be different. Make sure you get the trim kit for the valve that you order. Then add a tub spout without a built-in diverter to your order. I don't know if that Vero style has a tub spout without a built-in diverter, but you can use anyone's tub spout that looks good to you. Pretty much anyone's chrome will match any other manufacturer's chrome. But be careful if you're trying to match some of the other signature-type finishes. One other issue that may or may not be a factor, but when you get tech support on the line it's worth asking. Some valves that have purpose-designed ports to fill tubs allow a higher GPM flow through that port so it doesn't take all day to fill your tub. Ports designed to flow to shower heads may have a lower-rated flow-through since shower heads have GPM restrictions; 2.5GPM, 1.6GPM, etc. Ask if there are any flow restrictions on that valve. enduring, we ordered the 30" Bellwether today. I was really hoping he'd change his mind and decide on the 32". We would have had a lot more options. The 32" I saw today had a really bad case of the "dimples" :o The entire outside surface was very dimply. I'm hoping mine won't be as bad. Is yours like that? Ohhh, turn the overflow upside down! Thanks! My plumber will do anything I ask (at least he has so far) :) roadrunnerrita, I considered having his tub refinished but learned that that has it's own issues. As grungy as he gets, I'd be concerned about the finish getting scratched and what I could and couldn't use to clean it with. He said he didn't want a "plastic tub". I like my acrylic air tub but I can't use abrasive cleaners (like Scrubbing Bubbles) and it can scratch pretty easy.
