I don't know. I'm not even sure what a celebrity is. LOL Seriously growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area was a different scene from middle a America. I was a weekend hippy during the 60's s and I had a "cousin" who was in the music biz. I ran with a bunch who did a lot of security so I was backstage a lot. We would also go to concerts and party with the a bands later in the houses the Haight. There wasn't a line drawn between celebrity and regular people during that time. (Janis, The Dead, Jefferson Airplane etc.) Then there are quite a few infamous that I've known. Just the other day I was thing king about how I used to swim with the guy who "invented" the blue box that Steve Wozniak (Apple) ended up selling underground. We used to call all over Europe just for kicks. Or t stream out of state t radio through the phone lines. This was before the term "hacker" became a household word. We also have tons of celebrity sports figures living here. Just a few weeks ago DD and DS ended up chatting with the 49ers coach while they were pumping gas around the corner from my house. I live amongst Sharks,SF Giants, 49ers and Raiders.

There is something about a good Jamie Oliver recipe, they are just so easily repeatable. I feel like they are less recipes than inspirations. But honestly I dont have cable and so dont hink i Have seen his show in a very long time. I do see his stuff online though, and I think he is very good with fish and veg. I think Ina's recipes are very rich. I like a few of them, her oven shrimp scampi is a standard, but I think of her mostly as holiday and entertaining. I love Jacques, Alton Brown. Someone should give Mark Bittman a TV Show. Used to love Ming Tsai and but less now as I feel he has gotten more commercial. I like Carla, dont know her last name, she is very tall, she won Top Chef and is now on The Chow. I think she is home food, healthy, vegetable centric, fairly no-nonsense.

OMG, I would have definitely had a heart attack!!! I am not a good passenger. And after all that, the salesmans says "let's go again."

I'm with you, Jodi. OMG is right. I guess he wanted to go again so he could enjoy the ride this time. :-)

LOL! - That is funny.

I am 99.999% sure that "salesman" was an actor though. And there are not "can holders" in the vents on a 2009 Camero.

I bet there are quite some tales of test drives out there though.

Around here - they just toss you the keys. Nobody rides along with you. Is it that way anywhere else?

Iowagirl, we've purchased a number of new cars from the dealer over the years and have always had a salesman take the test drive with us. Maybe it's a state law for us.

We live in a pretty rural area, so I wonder if that is why they are more flexible on the test drives. They know us, our kid, our parents... LOL! Basically - they know were we LIVE!

They always give us a super nice car to drive while they are working on any of our cars too. I asked if they could start a punch card. After so many car purchases - could we get a free one? We have bought 4 new vehicles in 3 years from them. I asked if we bought 5 could we get the sixth one free?

No deal...

I did get some free oil changes though.

"Can we go again" That's funny.

Here, not only does the salesman go with you but you also have to give them your drivers license which they photocopy. I assume Jeff Gordon has a drivers license.

as funny as it is, It had to have been staged.........They couldn't assume that kind of liability.........and his lawyers certainly wouldn't allow it....

Salesmen certainly do the test drive with you in our area too...
