I know I've seen some sizable niches here in the past year or so. Do a search at the bottom of the page for niches and see what you can pull up. I'll post some pics of the niches in our three bathrooms. Our niche sizes/placements/orientations were based on various factors; shower storage needs, tile shape/size, behind the wall restrictions (pipes, wiring, studs....). Our carpenter/foreman is married to our real estate agent. She (agent) said that we should definitely have a tub in our MB for resale - b/c people will want it, even though they may never use it! Carpenter said to toss the tub - a larger shower would be better. We tossed the tub, replaced it with a large walk in shower. Shower will have a handheld shower head - one of those on a sliding bar - and a built in bench, also "nonhospital" grab bars. We found some *great* tiles for a small tile mural with matching accent tiles - should be very nice, and much more attractive and useful than a tub. We did agree to a tub in the second bathroom - a tub/shower combo. If I had my druthers, I'd switch that tub to a shower as well. Oh well. This is a one story house, so both bathrooms can be reached without stairs. We're putting a bench in the extra space in our master bathroom. You know, for sitting on after your shower, drying your toes off, etc. Although we did also consider a cabinet for towels. Extra storage. Most people we've talked to say that they rarely use bathtubs as adults. We feel good about our decision.

I bought an AMERICH WRIGHT base level acrylic tub for $1,000 from a bath and kitchen store in 2017 and it is a piece of plastic. After two years It was stained, difficult to clean and never feels entirely clean, the caulk around the tub has needed replacement several times, and the Americh label partly wore off almost immediately. I never use any abrasive cleaning products (all organic). When I contacted the manufacturer they pointed out that I the care instructions said I was supposed to WAX my tub with high-quality carnauba paste type wax. Wax my tub? They also referred me to a very expensive tub cosmetic repair company. Unfortunately I removed an old enamel tub instead of refinishing it. Number 1 worst decision in my remodel after seeking lots of advice. I dream of ripping this one out and replacing it with an enamel tub. Taking a bath in an acrylic tub feels cheap even though it wasn't..

I dont know any way to fix it without tearing it all apart, and lifting the tub and supporting it so it is level. Is this a new bathroom? or an older one? If it is an older one, maybe make sure, that the tub is supported. If its on an upper floor, you could have a rotted floor underneath it and tub is sagging. Same for the main floor, but, you should be able to see all that from either a crawl space or a basement. In any case, all that old nasty caulk, needs to be scrapped out and the entire area cleaned, and new caulk put there. Use bathroom caulk, meant for around a tub. Since water has been getting in there though, you can expect that there is some damage behind and under that tub and probably in the wall.
