Bought a pair of Baker bergere chairs, need paint help ASAP (pics
Comments (48)Thank you everyone for bearing with me as I wade through all the different options. budge1: glad to hear I am no alone in second guessing all my decisions. Do give us all an update! I certainly have not made any decisions. I bought a yard of drapery fabric at CC because I wanted to see all the colors in the fabric and I know that is part of my indecision. I'm also thinking of making a couple of bolster cushions for the bergere chairs with the material. BTW, squirrel, I never bought any chair fabric. The chairs were always meant to be a focal point and if you recall, many of the fabrics I was considering were $$. I brought in all fabrics and swatches of the existing wall colors to get their opinion as computer monitors can be deceptive. They first off suggested a gold, but did see the issue of it looking good near the Oat Straw--since both are neutrals, one with more green, the other with more yellow. Then they suggested going a shade darker than the sofa/drapes, but didn't seem too enthused about a terra cotta. At BM, I fould a lovely shade of terra cotta, audubon russet; that is until the salesperson told me it would be too intense to put on all the walls. If I took it a shade less, we would then be thinking about pink. He started steering me towards Wilmington Tan and Tyler Taupe. He liked Tyler Taupe the best as he felt it blended well with all my fabrics plus the Oat Straw. Unfortunately, they were out of the sample paint for Tyler Taupe though it will come in tomorrow and they don't make it in Willington Tan so I'd have to buy a quart. So, tomorrow I plan to go again and pick up some samples, In the meantime, here are the swatches for you to see. The russet is to the upper left near the flower (I tried to match to that), and then left to right are: Willmington Tan, Oat Straw, Tyler Taupe, and False Cypress. I am so confused right now which direction to go--everyone seems to have a different take on it. At this point, I do know I want to paint the entry--the living room I am still at a loss. The more I see the fabrics together the more I like them. I just need something to tie it all together at the same time be an accent to the trim which is in Swiss Coffee. I know these are not on the wall, but perhaps you can take a look and at least let me know if I'm headed in the right direction and which samples to buy....See MoreIKEA panel for panel ready dishwasher
Comments (42)Hi @Anna K. & others! Your DW looks great! I'm about to order the new Bosch Dishwasher & also want to use RINGHULT with the Blankett handle as you did! [I currently have old Ikea Abstrakt doors but I'm told Ringhult is the same]. I see that you that you used a cover panel, not a door like many others here have. The panel is ⅝" thick. Bosch says not to use a panel less than ¾" . Also there is no Ringhult panel. It looks like the Forbattra Cover panel is what matches the white gloss doors & since they are ⅓ the price of Ringhult, I would love to use that. Did you use the Forbattra panel? For those who have used an Ikea 24 X 30" door, some have mentioned that there are pre-drilled holes in the doors where the Bosch screws go. Has anyone had a problem with that & how did you work around it? Thx!...See Morewwyd- wine frig was to be paneled but is not
Comments (27)I think you made a wise choice to live with it. With your cabinets being inset (only 24" deep likely), the paneled door would not have set flush anyway. The whole thing would have to be pulled out and reinstalled....and possibly a new countertop too. Who ordered the cabinets? That's who should have helped you spec out the 'built in wine fridge". You gotta do the math. These appliances are built for Full overlay and frameless..if you have INSET, you must make design accomodations so it sits flush. FWIW, and I'm sure other KD's will agree....Paneled appliances ARE the biggest PITA to us! I usually wait to order the panels until the cabinets and appliances are on site. Even if they are 1/4" off....it shows. BTW, It did turn out gorgeous!...See MoreHelp! Need to decide exterior paint asap! Looking for mock ups to help
Comments (22)Thank you Celerygirl for all of the mock ups....they are so appreciated! I['m still unsure at this point but what are your thoughts on shutters? Also, what is the closest Sherwin Williams color to your suggested Benjamin Moore Timber Wolf? I tried to google it with no success. I'm still so torn, Granite Peak was always my top but maybe a Gray is what I should go with? I literally can't sleep with this hanging over my head but I'm going to try, and probably like in the past, I'll dream of color and paint yet again! jck910 & katinparadise - I so appreciate your feedback too. Do you know what Sherwin Williams paint color is closest to BM Storm by chance? When you mentioned the blues weren't resonating with you, can you be more specific on the paint samples I have on my house? I wasn't sure if you were looking solely at the mock ups or those as well? (And I know have some dark blues in there) as well as some lights, the one on the left up top (Poolhouse) is my fiance's favorite but it's been a NO for me almost immediately. LOL Thank you all again, and please respond if/when you can, I greatly appreciate it. I don't know if I have to give the painter the answer tomorrow morning though I'm hoping I have until late afternoon....fingers crossed! Until tomorrow, good night!...See Moregaylemh
