Karma is absolutely right. Too many people assign a name to their brugs just because they think it looks like variety X. Unless you know positively what variety you have it should just be called a NOID white, yellow, etc. There's nothing wrong with NOIDs and I'm not sure why so many people that aren't hybridizers are so hung up on names. I have a super nice neighbor and my north end backyard fence forms about half of his back fence. A few years ago, I had been working endless to cut all of the roots that ran 5-6 feet into the area that I had planned to plant and increase the size of my garden. My neighbor came over so I stopped and came inside and got some soft drinks and we just sat in the lawn chairs in which was once a back yard where I had created a small corner as a garden. We visited for awhile and he stood up and picked up the trimmers and went over to the Virginia Creeper where he had seen me trying to trim it back. He trimmed for a few minutes and sat back down. Within minutes, the entire vine that ran 20 feet along the fence began to wilt. He had unintentionally cut the main stem coming from the root and it took out the whole vine. I was so grateful and wished that I had known where the main stem on the other one came out, so I could have him trim there too. I don't know if they grow the same everywhere, but in my yard the roots will crawl on the surface of the ground for 6 feet straight out from the plant, in addition to the underground ones. When you mow the grass you can see them and it looks like little snakes crawling under the fence. They have made me jump more than once, but most of them are finally gone. They do look pretty on a farm fence or in the woods but in an area that gets a lot of rain they can become monsters in a hurry.

boxerpups - such a sad situation for that young girl - and surely her sister too. it does sound like she is acting out and I do agree that you should contact the teacher. maybe someone can intervene with her. life is tuff enough for young people today and that girl has more than any one young person should have working against her. i don't think i'd go the court route (don't think you will either). in the end it could cause more trouble for your dd and your family than it's worth. i'm not saying the young girl isn't worth it or that we don't have the right to be upset when someone damages our property. but in the end, a fridge is a fridge and hopefully will be fixed w/o much expense. OTOH, I do think the young girl needs confronted about it. for her good! and i think it is something you could handle. holding someone to account is not mean, it is the more loving thing to do for them. short term upset for long term gain. it might not show in her in the near future, but it will be going around in her head that someone was more concerned about her future than a material thing. it sounds like she has been raised to think that things are more important than she is. until you decide how to fix the fridge door, i think i'd use it as a prayer reminder for that young girl. and a thank you for the blessings you and your family have in each other. and as for getting a new puppy after the loss of another very loved furbaby, my belief is that the best way to honor my precious gone to heaven furbaby is to find another furbaby in need of a loving home and lots of spoiling! i think that makes them very happy!
