Toilet won't flush!
Comments (2)We can't fix your landlord. Simple test: Take a bucket of water and pour it quickly into the toilet bowl. If it flushes normally, the problem is that water is not flowing from the tank into the bowl quickly enough. If it does not flush well with the bucket of water, the problem is with the drain lines. Tell your landlord the results of your test. I have been tenant and landlord. I have encountered bad landlords and-- BOY OH BOY-- have I encountered bad tenants! Do you pay the rent as agreed? Can you find better housing for the same or less money? If you have a bad landlord, it will be much easier to change to another address than to undertake to reform that landlord. My idea and my practice has always been, whether as tenant or as landlord, that I must absolutely keep my part of the agreement in order to have any right to insist that the other party do the same. So do the test on the toilet, be honest with yourself about how you have complied with the agreement-- then if all that is OK, get on his/her case big time. Or move. Comments (3)Since your line is verified clear, your problem is inside the toilet tank. When you flush, the flapper at bottom of the tank should open up and allow the entire contents to flow out of that big opening at the bottom before it closes and seals again. If it did that, your flush would be complete. I'm suspecting bad flapper and/or bad fill-level. Don't know. Not there. You obviously don't understand how things work in there and from cyber-distance, I can't be positive I'm steering you straight either. Suggest you get someone in there who understands how these things work and let them make it right. I have little doubt the problem is a simple/cheap one....See Moretoilet won't flush
Comments (7)Maybe you had a blockage in sewer line that caused you to replace the toilet in the first place?????????? If the foam is indeed part of the desighn,I wouldn't alter it just yet. Does the foam line the walls to prevent tank sweating? I can't think of any other reason for foam so make certain it's not packing to prevent shipping damage to tank components. Could a piece of foam broke off and become traped between tank and trap? Not knowing what kind of system you have makes it difficult giving advise but let's try finding the problem. Before flushing, can you raise water level in tank pouring with your bucket? If the fill valve is not adjusted to supply enough water, that might tell us. The inverse can be true where tank supplys too much water and deminishes force o flush. Idea setting is when flapper falls closed shortly after water begins leaving bowel forcfuly. A slight possibility is that bowel was poorly alighned with floor flange or access wax squeezed out and partly blocked floor flange. During flush on many toilets, there is as much water flowing from bowel straight through flange as is leaving the bowel flowing through flange. With partialy blocked flange, there might be room to empty bowel but insuffecent to carry the tank flow as well....See MoreToliet won't flush and tried EVERYTHING!
Comments (10)I really didn't want to remove the tank just yet thinking that eventually the tablet would disintegrate and thought to use some vinegar instead. I removed the water from the tank, removed the flapper, duct taped up all the holes under the rim, and poured a gallon of white vinegar down the hole so it could settle around the bowl for about two hours. I tried some flushes but it still didn't work though I did notice little bits of pieces of the tablet coming out. So, I held down the water control assembly so the water would fill up to the top of the tube and continued filling up the bowl for about twenty seconds, and then quickly flushed it. More pieces came out and it flushed! I used my mirror and saw where there were bigger chunks near the jet stream hole in the front of the toliet and was able to fish out those chunks with a screwdriver. After a few more flushes as described above, the rest of it came out. Success!!!! Thanks for all the help everyone. Never using tablets AGAIN!...See MoreNeil Smith
