My understanding is that as long as AOL is your home page, what you're describing will always happen. There is nothing magical about having AOL as your home page...you either want it that way or you don't. The alternative is to remove AOL as your home page and either set something else or leave it blank. You could add AOL to your FAVORITE list and bring it up with a single click whenever you want to. You could also add a NEW TAB whenever you want, or open a new IE window. You have many choices...USE THEM.

Sometimes going right to the edge or even a little overboard with something is very stylish, IMO. A color that's a touch too bold, a mirror that's just a bit too big, flowers that are a tad too outlandish...um...maybe even gaudy, a painting that makes you think or even squirm some. It's called "edge" and it's what separates the little kids from the big kids. You can't do it everywhere in a room of course, but sometimes just one element that's over-the-top gives a room panache. Otherwise, if you play it safe, it's just a big predictable yawn. My advice....worth what you paid!

I'd have to see more of the overall style to be sure, but 8' ceilings are rare in my area and never on the main level. Since your ceilings are so low, I think it would be better to go with same header as vertical. Appears to be 4" rect. You need more visible wall above the doors.
