You can also do a search on the Wayback Machine. But it is often a hit and miss.

I too could have sworn there was a discussion in some thread about how to easily roll out cookie dough, so that cookies were all the same thickness, but this morning I searched all over and couldn't find it.

I've been somewhat successful just googling the word "gardenweb" and whatever words I can remember were in the thread.

But Ann's right, just ask again. No one minds.

Also hit or miss but worth a shot is Google Advanced Search. Fill in ths.gardenweb.com where it says "Search within a site or domain"

Susytwo to make a dough one thickness when rolling, put a wooden dowel, which is the thickness you want, one on either side of the circle of dough, then roll over dough and dowels.

The rolling pin can't go lower than the dowels.

Thanks Ann. In particular, I wanted to thank the person who recommended the meat grinder on a recent request - she was so kind and went above in her efforts to help me, and I can't find the thread. Also, with my DH's new stricter then strict heart dietary needs, I have questions I know have already been discussed here and informational threads and posts I can't find. He isn't feeling great and I am overwhelmed right now and frustrated that the wonderful resource I thought I had here is not available. I wish I only needed someone's particular delicious recipe ~LOL~I hate it that I sound like a baby......
Thank you for your generosity. I do know most people are willing to repost or answer questions here. I really wanted to find the answers and discussions when I had asked for help earlier. Food and dinners and eating healthy have always been important to us, even when we were dirt poor young newlyweds, so a major change in our little foodworld is challenging, and I know I will be able to cook delicious meals that are healthy for him. It sounds trite that food is so important to us!Anyway, thank you!

You can ask for more than just recipes, we'll all be glad to reiterate any advice that has been given in the past.

In fact, that's waht is so cool....if something gets asked again, there is always someone who missed it the first go-round and is thankful to see it!

I understand your frustration, but certainly don't think you sound like a baby! Ask away, that's what this forum is all about!

mike- I purchased the meat grinder that nosowtn recommended (ann_t so kindly located the post for me). I wanted to thank her as she gave me information and a testimonial and a link - it was so nice of her to do- I wanted to let her know I followed her suggestion.

How long does it take to not be a stranger? Just kidding. Recently a request was made to post Annie's Hot Milk Cake recipe so I dutifully typed it out but that was it. I wasn't offended but figured the request was forgotten or maybe so excited about the recipe that a response wasn't made. I try to respond but I know there are times I fail to do so. However, I am most appreciative of the efforts of all of you

Well, I can certainly say it's painfully difficult to come back to read and thank posters who answered my question when the question I posted this morning seems to have vanished. Good grief.

I'll wait until tomorrow morning, and if it hasn't reappeared, I'll repost. Bummer. (Whoops - maybe that's considered profanity?)

magothyrivergirl - I sense the frustration in your post and feel that you must be overwhelmed by everything that has hit you so far. Having gone through this with my DH when we discovered he had Parkinsons and continually losing weight, I know the feeling. Everything will work out okay. I found it necessary to do a lot of information-seeking on my own, going with him to physical therapy and learning how to help him do that. I went to the dietician and learned what he could and could not have and experimented-experimented.. It will work though, and you WILL be able to do it, and I thank the Lord for giving me the strength to do it. Hang in there.- Barb

Mag, hang in there. We'll all help as much as we can. I don't ever mind answering a question or posting a recipe over again, no matter the circumstances. Good luck to you AND your DH, changing the way we eat is not easy, and we also have to change the way we cook, the way we shop, the way we think. It's difficult...
