I recently purchased a gardenia in a 1-gallon pot. I knew it should be planted soon. Unfortunately, things came up and it was 2 or 3 weeks before we planted the gardenia. By then, it had blackening, dying leaves. Friday night, I had a nightmare about the gardenia. In my dream, I found the gardenia covered with black leaves -- at least, those that weren't on the ground. Well, that ended my sleeping for the night. I considered getting up, finding a flashlight, and checking the gardenia. Determined it probably wasn't a good plan since my DH would be disturbed and think I need psychiatric care. OK, no more sleep. First light yesterday (Saturday) - I'm up, dressed, and out to check on the gardenia. No blackened leaves. (Lost those?) Lots of new, bright green growth. And, a BUD!!!!!!!! Anyone else have frightening dreams about their plants?

Update- Sorry for the lack of recent updates I have just wanted to forget about Sears for a while. I also posted this on the Kitchens Forum here at GW and received a response from Dianne from Sears cares but did not see it until now so I did not contact her about my Sears experience. So not sure what could of be done differently. Thank you Dianne for your response. Well Sears did come out and pickup the appliances the next day about 10:30, so that went well. The manager at the store said they would be stored in their local warehouse in our city so they would not be sent back to the main warehouse in other city and have to be re-ordered again. We set up a date for them to be re-deliverered on March 29th to our home. I was happy with this agreement and though all was fine. The important part was that they would be here in the local warehouse and not be backordered........ On Friday I picked-up my mail and to my surprise was a check from Sears refunding our money!?!? What ?!?! Last I heard they would be delivered on the 29th. So I decided to stop in a Sears store closer than the original Sears store and ask what happened. They looked up our file and said that the last information in the system was our appliances were dropped off. It showed nothing about them being picked back up or the new delivery information. Nothing. If I decided to re-ordered them the earliest we would get them would be March 31st. They said to call the manager I dealt with at the other store, so I did. He then told me the local warehouse could not and did not store our appliances as agreed and they were shipped back to other city. He would get my salesman to redo our order and call me back right away within 30 mins (still have not received a call 2 days later). So then the local Sears store said they wanted to have my business, maybe my experience with them might be better, and unfortunately not many stores here sell the brand we wanted. All was well until I asked if they would take a check as the other Sears store did, they said no checks. I then offered to get a bank draft for them, once again they said no. They would accept only major credit cards or a Sears card. I said I do not want a Sears card and do not have a credit card I could put over $10,000 on. He said it was because of the possibility of check not clearing before we received the appliances....... me and the other salespeople explained the appliances would be delivered weeks after the check already cleared, he said no. I told him the other store took my check and he went on and on about how the other store does not follow policy all the time and how tired he is of it.......... I said it was quite obvious Sears did not want my money, one of the salesladies said yeah we're definitely not making this easy on you, and I walked out. So I went to another compeditors store and was able due to a new promotion save $1500 off my order compared Sears so I'm pretty excited!!! Plus the wall canopy vent fan we originally ordered was now discontinued and we are getting the fancier newer model cheaper, yay!!! Hopefully we will have a better experience this time, fingers are crossed, lol. Thanks for listening again. :)

I just returned a new basic, TL washer from Sears that I bought 2 months ago to replace my awful Calypso which finally bit the dust completely. My thought was that if I bought a basic washer, I would have less problems. I went to Sears again...my mistake...don't you hate their high priced service agreements, $339 for 5 years or something like that. They almost won't let you buy the washer without it. I bought it and then called to cancel it. Anyway, my basic washer never spun the clothes well enough on second rinse, and after one failed service visit, I decided to return it within the 90 day return window. I must say that Sears service people were courteous along the way -- but it is awful to have to take days off work to deal with the deliveries, service calls, and then pick-up of the defective item. Although, can you believe this, I called last Sat to have Sears come pick up the washer, and they came at 7:15 Sunday morning! I went to Bray & Scarff and bought a GE Harmony last Sat, delivered Wednesday. But, it's leaking out of the bottom and here I sit waiting for the technician to arrive to see what's up with the machine. Otherwise, I've done three loads and it washes really well. B & S repair or replace plan (lemon plan)is $139 for 5 years with money back if you don't use it...I was able to get a next day appointment with them, but couldn't work at home yesterday so they are coming today. I am not buying appliances from Sears again...bad products and expensive maintenance plans...good luck with your situation.

Today, Monday, has been five days since I returned an email requesting a Monday meeting. NO RESPONSE FROM COMPANY to my 4-18; 9:45 email!!!! Unreal. Iroll..they were obviously not forthcoming about alot of things. Thanks for your pic. I appreciate the time it took for you to post it. My GC just got into town and took one look at these countertops and said "No Way..Unacceptable" He called and left a message for the salesman to call him back. An hour goes by, he calls again and actually spoke to salesman who acted as if he had not heard about the problem. He is sending out an installer this Wednesday to confer with GC who is upset they didn't respond to me and set up a meeting for today. Now we are looking at Wed and wasting another three days minimum. Meanwhile, I find a lovely website and discuss this whole scenario with a professional fabricator who took the time to call me because he was so appalled with the entire installation. The striations in the material are defects from not curing properly and there are many other issues..all of which point to the fabricator in a not so nice way. I'll keep you posted as I'm not too sure I won't post a negative review and "out" this company depending upon the final installation, which I do apparently need to try to let them correct the install. But I want to stay positive for now and hope for the best, but my "gut" and all these red flags tells me that's not going to happen.
