wow i really don't have an answer, but surely it would be worth her time to have to dr's office send a letter to the company to tell them of her current prescribed drug treatment...such a shame...

know dh is very careful to not to take advil when he visits one client, as they actually drug test his hair! (they're a high profile co)

Check with her Dr. and maybe do some sort of testing at his office and have the Dr. write a letter regarding meds and drug testing. Like one poster stated that the Dr. should write some sort of letter to clear the record.

Not sure, but I "think" they ask for what meds you are or have recently taken when you have drug testing done. The tests should be able to screen those out, or account for those in the quantity noted, so to say.

When they give drug tests they nearly always (should) also give the person a form to list any drugs over the counter or prescription they have been taking....A doctors prescription etc is all it takes to cover a test.

Don't discount the possibility that she actually does/did use meth...

I think a pharmacist ought to be able to answer your question better than a physician. Just call your local pharmacy.

Yes, those drug tests can be goofy. My brother, who's an OTC truck driver & subject to random drug tests, can't eat poppyseed salad dressing when he visits me because it shows up as something illegal in a drug test. Geez.

My older daughter failed a drug test for a sales job some years ago. Never figured out why. She is defintely not a drug user at all. Since it was a sales job in a store, they had to make sure any hirees were free of drugs and would not be likely to steal/shoplift from them.

We routinely give drug tests where I work. We give the kind where it is an onsite test that gives just a positive or negative but that's it and we give the type where it lists the levels of a particular drug. The higher the level usually means the more of a drug taken (both legally and illegally). When we do the tests, we always tell people to write down any prescriptions and non-prescriptions taken in the last 30 days. Not long ago we had a supplier that sent us bad tests. We were getting false positives on every one tested with a certain batch of kits. This could certainly be the case. The only way we figured it out was we sent it to the lab that will give us the level of drugs. (Don't worry - no one was fired.)

With that being said, could it be that they didn't want to hire your friend and just gave that as a excuse? Also, your friend may want to ask if they could know what the levels were or if it was an on-site test.

Thanks Scissors! I assme it was an on-site test. She sad she pee'd in a cup, handed t to the lady, the lady put a cap on it, shook it up and "read" it..then told her she was testing positive.
