I will only go with the top of the line kitchenaid the best I have ever had. Will never have another frigidaire, currently have a Kenmore that looks like the kitchenaid but it is terrible, so badly want another kitchenaid like the one in my other house.

I have had 2 kitchenaids and love them. Make sure you get the stainless steel interior. I have none in this rental house and it is on my list for the next house we buy :)

I vote for Bosch. i've had Whirlpool and Kenmore and the Bosch is the best.

I have GE with stainless steel interior, but it does not clean as good as the others. Also I read in Consumer's Guide this is a problem. I have to clean my dishes pretty good first, then wash them. Never have had this problem before and we have soft water. Just my opinion.

Just got a new Kitchenaid installed this week. So far so good. I purposely did not rinse anything and didn't run it for about 24 hours but everything came out clean plus you can't even hear it running.

Because I do most of my food preparation on the counter where the dishwasher is I got one with a flat surface handle. I'm so glad I realized that because I would have always been bumping my hip on a big bow handle.

We love our Kitchenaid with stainless interior. Very quiet and cleans beautifully. In fact, the only problem I have with it is that it's so quiet that I have to double check to make sure I remembered to start it!

We have a Miele that replaced a terrible Bosch, and I could not be happier. The top silverware tray is a miracle. And if you have hard water and no whole-house water softener, you can get a Miele model with a built-in water softener.

My Bosch is almost ten years old and you still can't hear it running. I love it!

When we moved here there was a Kitchenaid which was 40 years old and still running. In our kitchen remodel, we got built in and only Maytag would fit the bill with the built in panel. Not that quiet but it works well.

I loved my KitchenAid . . . until it went on fire. Fortunately, we were standing near it at the time, and saw flames shooting out. This taught me never to run the dishwasher when I'm away or asleep.

I like my stainless-interior Kenmore well enough now that I switched to the best detergent ever, but it's not as quiet as they said it would be. Not a big deal for me, as I rarely entertain.

My daughter has a Miele that you can't hear at all.

After a very rough beginning...many service calls ending in replacement of both upper and lower drawers, and new warranty...my Fisher Paykel is still running well after ten years. These are slow to complete a cycle, but it uses very little soap or water and is quiet. Mine is built-in, so the 'commands' are interior to the unit. Mine has a handle like my kitchen drawers.

What I like best, aside from performance, is that one 'drawer' is just the right size for DH and me to run it once a day. I have to remind myself to run the lower drawer once in a while, jusst to keep it operational. I have the stacked pair on one side of my main sink and my garbage/recycling pull-out on the opposite side. (Color me lazy.)

Why would you care what the interior of a dishwasher is made of? Sales gimmick?

As I recall from hanging out on the Kitchen Forum some years ago, people loved their Paykel dish drawers. I think all the newer dishwashers have slow wash cycles. I know mine does. Eighty-something minutes.

Stay away (in my opinion) from Frigidaire. One of the worst purchases I've ever made.

I had Paykel drawers that only lasted about 5-6 years with me being gone a little over a year of that. I loved them but had several repairs with the last being for parts no longer being made. Replaced with Frigidaire, with a ss interior, that is the quietest I have ever owned.

I have a Kitchenaid, love it! It holds more than a Bosch.....becasue a Bosch has tons of insulation around it...to make it quiet and it takes up the same amount of space. :0) My brother has a Bosch. Steam comes out the bottom of it and ruined his wood floor for about 6' in all directions. His was a 1991 model. they may have solved THAT problem?....I couldn't tell you.

Paykel has two drawers, because your supposed to keep clean dishes in one and dirty in the other, great for a small kitchen. Then you never have to put the dishes away. :0)

another vote for Fisher Paykel....I have had mine over 10 years and still going strong. With 2 people it is perfect. I run one of them almost daily.
It is "okay" quiet. Improvements may have been made since mine were new.
I love having smaller loads...having company is great. I can load dinner dishes and run while we are eating dessert. A fast cycle with the heat dry is 49 minutes. Eco (no dry) is about 33 minutes I think.

I have all Bosch appliances except my fridge. While look great and the dishwasher is super quiet, the bleeping beeper drives me crazy!

On both the microwave and dishwasher it beeps incessantly until you get up and open the door. Lot of good it does to have a quiet dishwasher that wakes you up or otherwise interrupts whatever else you're doing with an annoying, persistent beep.

You can disable the beep on some models, but not mine. Just wanted to warn you to ask about the bleepin' beep.

I've had a Bosch for ten years. I have never had even one problem with it. I love it. It doesn;t beep. It's so quiet and gets the dishes sparkling clean.

Very quiet dishwashers have a smaller interior capacity because of the insulation. Not much but enough to notice. It makes no difference to me, but it might if I had a big family at home.

Correction: My new dishwasher is a Kitchenaid...not Frigidaire. No clue where my head was when I posted that!!
