Fisher & Paykell double draw dishwasher
Comments (2)Large water leak could be a cracked drain hose. The drain hoses flex every time the drawers are open/closed so it's not unusual a crack happens after years of use. Each drawer has a separate controller board, unusual they'd go bad simultaneously. Both drawers dead may be a bad mains power board, which is located under a cover on the bottom panel of the cabinet. Remove the lower drawer to access it. The mains board also has a flood sensor that reacts to water in the bottom panel, triggering the pumps on both drawers to turn on in drain mode. Comments (22)I have the F&P DD24DCHTX6, it has a tall drawer on top and a regular one on the bottom. I think it's great; no splashing, no open door to block traffic or bash in your shins again. Like Bireland it took awhile to learn how to load it. Unlike Bmorepanic I've found the cleaning to be great. Some things are much cleaner than ever before. Tea strainers etc. very nice. Coffee and tea stains never on mugs anymore. Tired old wineglasses so sparkly. For the first little while I tested it daily with incrementally cruddy pots and plates and it always got them clean. Like Kimkitchy, if I could do it over again I would put a single drawer on either side of the sink. I love not having to bend over at all to load or unload the top drawer which I use most of the time. I live alone but I cook & bake all the time and there are always lots of dishes. If I could do one on either side of the sink I'd select a tall single and a regular one and put pot drawers underneath them. Others have mentioned how useful the 2nd drawer is for loading when the first one is already full or running. I do that as well but also love it for a drain-board for hand-washed items. No stupid ugly rack on the countertop. With regard to the noise I think they are very quiet and friends have commented on just how quiet. There is some sound but it's not annoying at all. Silly to admit but I wait until bedtime to put them on because then, when the house is completely quiet, you can hear them and I like the lulling swishing as I drift off to sleep....See Morewhat brand of detergent for Fisher Paykel dishwasher drawers?
Comments (21)FYI - Ive owned three F/P dishdrawers at different properties over the last 15 years. Heard from both the experience center in Orange County and also from the service technician that Finish Quantum (first choice) or Finish Classic are recommended above other brands, and Cascade is actually not recommended. The explanation they gave me was that there is less detergent in the Finish packets, which is better as the drawers are smaller than a full size unit. The cascade packs are portioned for full size units. You can, of course, use Cascade powder or Finish powder but do not overfill. If you’re using packets, place them in the silverware bucket so they don’t interfere with the dishwasher arms. Hope this helps and sorry for replying to an ancient thread, it just happens to be the most relevant one for new buyers....See MoreFisher Paykel two drawer dishwasher as a 2nd dishwasher?
Comments (21)zp99, I think as some others have said, I'd install a single drawer instead of the double as a second DW. You'd gain some cabinet/drawer space, and unless you really have a need to run 2 full-size DW's every week, I think it just makes more sense. We are installing a FP double integrated as our primary and only DW. I asked some questions about it in a POST a bit over a year ago, and at the end of the post is my review on what I felt I could fit inside. This was at the appliance store so of course I couldn't run it. Overwhelmingly, it seems those that have had them, love them. Having them installed properly seems to be paramount....See MoreEddie Gornish
