Sitting here barefooted, short sleeves on, deck door open, bedroom ac will be running.

THEN a cold front comes thru.

Back to shoes, long sleeves, doors closed, ac off, but that will be short lived.

yes I did my presentation on daffodils today at our garden club meeting and I had several varieties of them in bloom to give away as prizes, with them all over the room it definitely made it very spring like.

We've had the craziest, warmest winter here in Long Island NY. We got a total of 5 inches of snow this winter. It's been in the 50's many days, so, yes, I am thinking of spring. I've already started ordering plants and seeds by mail.

Am I ever!! The tulip trees, pear trees, peach trees are all blooming, not to mention the daffodils and some azaleas. Yes!! come on spring!!! Oops!! forgot my crab apple tree and the redbuds and Carolina jasmine. Mom Nature at her best!

We haven't had winter here yet......daffodils have already bloomed and it seems like Spring.

waiting for the snow shoe to drop...instead of flowers we have daisy and donald duck alredy...

I planted a few bulbs already and have another 3 to plant, then that's about all I'll do...........and you know why!

Oh yes, ever since we had a pair of bluebirds checking out one of our bird boxes a couple weeks ago. But here in NY it's a long time till budding trees and blooming flowers.

Not here! With 36 inches (yes, 3 feet, one yard) of new snow in the past 11 days, it's hard to see spring getting closer. :-(

Well, we didn't get the horrendous snowfall that was predicted, but spring is not on the horizon yet. I'm just afraid that I lost some perennials and hostas with the light snow cover, but hopefully not. I've done some winter sowing but other than that, just looking at the seed catalogs helps.

Oh yes! I can hardly wait! Even tho we didn't have much of a winter in north central Ohio this year. I am really itching to get the RV out! I had a mama cardinal sitting on the awning support in my front window this morning.

Here in W. Massachusetts we have had an extremely mild winter. We had a 24" snowfall on Halloween that caused millions of dollars in damages, but since then we had a lite 1/2" on New Years Eve and a couple dustings in January that didn't even completely cover the ground. and they were all melted off within 24hrs. While extended periods of sub zero temps are not uncommon here, this year we have been average daily temps into the upper 40's.

Then on Feb 28 it started snowing about 4pm and continued light flurries through this morning, total accumulation about 2", bet here again, this is a good thing....as the old saying goes, March came in like a Lion so its out like a Lamb, but then we are forecasted for rain starting about 4pm today and temps into the low 50's on Saturday.

But then we better knock on wood because last year we had basically the same type of weather up till March, then we got not one but two 40" snowfalls within a week and in years past I have seen a 12" snowfall on Labor Day..so we could still have a lot of winter ahead of us.

On the other hand, our Mayor just announced this morning that our city has saved over $1 million on the snow removal budget so far this year and if it continues they will be able to use that money to buy some sorely needed new equipment for the fire & road service departments...

I have had, and still do have several robins in my pear tree in the back yard. Yesterday when I opened my front door there was a robin sitting in my dwarf crab apple tree, singing to me!

Neither tree is blooming yet. I have daffodils (which I have always called Jonquils) though.
