Lucy needs your positive thoughts

Lucy ended up having a cystoscopy yesterday because of on going incontinence and they found the unexpected. They had to biopsy three areas of her bladder that looked very suspicious. She also has extensive bladder wall thickening.

We won't have the pathology report back until Monday or Tuesday, so we are very concerned.

She is home now, but is on a lot of pain meds to keep her as comfortable as possible for now. She is way to young to have this happening to her. She is only 18 months old as of next week.

I feel guilty asking for more prayers and positive thoughts, but all of you have been so supportive over the past couple of years that I am asking for them again.

Marlene, you have been in my thoughts and prayers also, even though I haven't posted either. Even if you can legally take down the gates, I wouldn't touch them. I would ask the court to order him to take them down himself, since he bought the materials and built them, he should have to go out and take them down. The court should order them to be taken down by a specific date so that if he doesn't comply you can call the police and either force him to do it or face being arrested for failure to comply with a court order. Your lawyer should ask the judge to enter this order, so that you don't have to go out and expose yourselves to this maniac. I had a nasty neighbor years ago who I always just thought was a jerk who come over and stole our concord grapes off the vines. Even when I cought him doing it he laughed and said the former owners said that he could have them and since she had planted th vine, it was her decision. His stupidity left me speechless. We put a lock on our gate, but the vine was close enough to the fence that he could reach across and take the grapes, which he did the following year. Moments after I witnessed him stealing the grapes for the third year in a row, I went over and demanded he give them back to me. He responded that he and his wife had already eaten them. I knew he was lying, but when his wife meekly confirmed the lie, I knew by the way he looked at her and the way that she cowered that she was a battered spouse. Watch your neighbor if he has any family and see how they look at him and how they react when he speaks to them. The signs will be obvious if you're looking for them. A couple we visited once were having a disagreement and he turned around suddenly to look at her and held up his hand. She flinched in such a way that we knew that she was used to being struck by him. Watch what this man does with his hands while he's talking and you will know if he is violent. Cheryl

Sorry to hear Chammi's having a tough time recuperating. Red Bank is excellent. My sister has used Red Bank for chemo for her late pug and was very pleased with them. We usually use Garden State Veterinary in Tinton Falls- our vet has a good working relationship with them. Spencer the chocolate lab and Katie the shepherd mutt are sending doggy tail wags for luck - and we've all got our fingers and toes crossed- lots of energy flowing here for Chammi. Helene (always glad to find more than one - we Helenes know how hard it is to get our name pronounced correctly- but that's material for another thread!)

I had surgery the day before you posted and just saw this. I have to chuckle because I was killing time at the computer screen before hand too. Mine wasn't "major"except that it was mine and it was a first. I'm on the mend now and hope you are too -- with a smooth recovery. Hope we hear from you soon.

Wow, you all are so sweet! I feel like some ridiculous charity case... :-/ DH brought home his laptop and air card tonight so I could at least check my email. Missed some important reno-related messages. And I missed GW!! Little DD is starting to settle in today, and 6 y.o. DS is loving getting to watch cartoons for 3 hours a day while I deal with reno issues, trades and phone calls. Without going into too much detail, moving day had many hiccups. I still can't find most of what I need on a daily basis to feed the kids and get them dressed. Who would have thought that I needed to ask that boxes marked in big letters "KITCHEN" actually make it somewhere into the vicinity of the kitchen. A whole room full of boxes, floor to ceiling and wall to wall, makes it hard to find things. After getting in the house, I'm overwhelmed with all the things not done. We were just trying to get out of the house we were staying in regardless of the state of our house. I wish I had been able to manage window shades and closet organization before we moved in, but those are minor comparatively. Day by day progress: Monday: -DW and cleanup sink plumbed -Cleaning the temporary house -Cleaning our house -Have heat pump serviced so we can heat the house -Wait for final inspection Tuesday: -Marble installers worked for several hours on fixing several issues -Wait for pantry door install -Applied first marble seal coat -Clean our house -Wait for final inspection Wednesday: -Applied second marble seal coat -Pantry door installed -other small carpentry jobs done -clean our house -exterior door handles on finally!! it's cold here and blue tape covering handle holes is a bit drafty -Final inspection (failed) -Gas rangetop and fireplace plumbed Still to do: -correct wood floor finishing problems -rangetop put back together so I can cook! -pantry shelves so I have some place to put my food -correct several mis-wirings of switches so lights work -find all my kitchen gear! -closets put together so clothes and toys can be unpacked -INTERNET ACCESS -final paint coat on every room, some need first coat too -washer and dryer installed back in laundry room Somehow, the more luxury issues like pretty light fixtures and counter stools have faded into the background! DH says he's taking next week off so maybe the computer and internet will get hooked up and I can post some pics. Thank you all for the wonderful thoughts and support. Linda, I am sorry as well to hear about Lucy. You're both in my prayers. It's very hard to find out things like this about our beloved pets, isn't it? I appreciated so much your support for me during my ordeal with Luna, and you have mine. I'm keeping you both in my thoughts and beaming as much positive energy as I can...

Thanks everyone. Lucy just had a rotten night last night and today hasn't been any better until now. She is finally sleeping and snoring. She stopped eating and drinking yesterday, so she had to go in this AM and have fluids. She finally ate some carrots this evening, but still isn't drinking. I am giving her water through a syringe every hour or so. They weighed her this AM and we were all shocked to see that she has lost almost 3 pounds since the end of Feb. I am hoping that a good nights rest will help.

Oh, Linda. Little Lucy should not have to go through this at such a tender age.

Mojo and Chessa are sending big, wet puppy kisses to their GW fur-sister. We all hope she comes through this like the little trooper that she is!

Lucy finally decided to eat and drink a little today. It really seemed to perk her up some. She still jumps straight up 3 feet into the air when she potties though, so we are keeping her on the pain meds. We know all too well that you have to laugh when you can and watching her potty is sad and hilarious at the same time. The pain from the procedure should getting better soon. We are still waiting on the biopsy results. Hopefully they will come in today yet.

We finally got the biopsy results today and they were inconclusive. We are waiting on a few more tests results, then will have to make the decision to repeat the biopsy.

The good news is that Lucy is drinking normally and she doesn't jump straight up into the air when she potties anymore. She still has to be coaxed to eat, but that is probably due to the antibiotics.
