I know that maternal urge some women feel when they are starting to think about having a baby, they melt when they see other people's babies. That baby envy sort of thing...

Lately I get that feeling with other people's dogs! How pathetic is that? I've got all the kids a person needs. But I'm telling you, I have a case of dog envy! I've never had a dog, but I've sure thought about it. I love to be around other people's dogs, I even buy treats for the neighbor's dogs! I notice dogs everywhere I go, they seem to find me when they are lost. It's weird.

DH, though, wants a dog about as much as he wants another baby. LOL. Not at all!! I think we have to both be ready. hahahah!!

There is a humane society tv commercial playing in these parts that brings tears to my eyes every time.

A dog, much like your little treasure, is behind bars and the narrator says 'I don't know how I ended up in here'. Then the dog finds a home and is shown running around a yardm, chasing a ball, staring adoringly at his new family and the narrator says 'but I'll never forget how it felt to get out.'

If I could whistle shrilly through my teeth, I'd name a dog "Taxi"! Small towns don't have taxis and I'd like to be able to go outside, whistle shrilly, and call out "TAAAAAXIIIII!! LOL! (or it could be a horse's name)

She reminds me of my long lost doggie-pal, Happy because she has the same 'happy' look on her face.
When Happy first showed up he was shy and suspicious but after he decided we were okay and he 'chose' to stay with us he had a perpetual Happy look on his face. That's why I named him 'Happy'.

Well, she is Blossom's Cousin. Why not name her Flower like the little skunk in the Disney Movie.

I think you need a Greenhouse name. Rose, Petunia, Daisy, Ginger are something Botanical. Daffy for Daffodil. Iris. Lily. Saffron.

Thank you all for the suggestions. I think we'll go with Lucy. She is such a redhead. For now I'll keep her home when I go across the road to the greenhouse. I want her to know what is "her" side of the road. Oscar is put out by the whole deal but, he'll get over it.

I love Lucy...LOL!!! That's a great name. I wanted to name our female German Shepherd Lucy when we got her 2½ years ago, but Bob didn't want to do it. His mother, who died before I met him, was named Lucille and he didn't want to name a dog after her. I can understand that.

Lucy looks sooooooo happy and sweet. Love the name you chose. We rescued a Golden in 1995 from SPCA and she's now approximately 14 years old and still with us. Her name is Lucy also. I chose her name because she had red hair and knew she'd be lots of fun!! "Everybody Loves Lucy"! Good choice and congratulations!!
