I just figured out how much I owe in taxes this year...

oh, you poor thing! This is the first time in probably 6 years we have not owed to the feds- only because we had extra taken out each payday. Still owed state.

take an aspirin and put a cool rag on your eyes, maybe that will help.

Oh yeah, homemade ice cream is definitely worth the trouble. I like the mocha brownie chunk, I got the recipe here. Elery loves butter pecan, I make it with brown sugar from another recipe I also got here. I have one of those little Cuisinart ice cream makers that you put the insert in the freezer. 20 minutes and I can have ice cream, or that prickly pear sorbet that Sol pointed me to, or frozen yogurt or a zillion things. Oh yeah, definitely worth it. I seldom top ice cream, although I've been known to make a chocolate malted out of it. arum, the strange thing is that since menopausing, I have rather been intolerant of salt... things that I liked to eat before seem excessively salty...so I know that I've cut down... BUT, I live in a Japanese household, can you say shoyu (soy) sauce? :o) or can you say somen? :o) I could probably cut down further... I see the ole doc on the 17th... but he's not much on menopause, unfortunately, and I JUST saw the Gyno doc and I didn't think to mention it to her %$#@!*&^! and I try to bring notes! I was too busy having the ole feet in the stirrups, I guess. Well, it's always reassuring to KNOW that it's menopausal... even though I've tried benadryl both internally and externally, so I was pretty sure it wasn't allergies, though I am kinda the HIVE queen! :o) That kinda works huh, hives and being the queen? :o)

No problem, Daylilydayzed. Here it is: Limoncello-Mint Sorbet with Fresh Blackberries Limoncello, the citrusy Italian liqueur, brightens this sorbet. It's nice to have a bottle on hand to splash with soda in a spritzer or macerate with fruit for a quick dessert. 2 cups water 1 1/3 cups sugar 1/2 cup limoncello 1 cup fresh lemon juice (about 6 large lemons) 1/2 cup chopped fresh mint 2 cups blackberries Lemon slices (optional) 1. Combine first 3 ingredients in a saucepan over medium-high heat; bring to a boil, stirring until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat; add lemon juice and mint. Cover and chill. 2. Strain juice mixture through a sieve into a bowl; discard solids. Pour mixture into the freezer can of an ice-cream freezer; freeze according to manufacturer's instructions. Spoon sorbet into a freezer-safe container; cover and freeze 1 hour or until firm. Serve with blackberries; garnish with lemon slices, if desired. Thanks, Slow! The pebble mosaic is 18 ft. in diameter, consists of 47 sections and weighs about 6500 lbs. I came across a book by Maggy Howarth in the book store and fell in love with pebble mosaics. It took my dad and I 10 months (working every weekend) to complete it. I bought the pebbles from a stoneyard locally, some from Dallas (both of which where Mexican beach pebbles) and had some shipped in from Seattle (which are imported from Indonesia.) The Mexican beach pebbles are my favorite. I also used my tile saw and grinder to cut pieces of limestone and granite for the fish fins, tree trunk, Celtic knot, etc... I learned everything I needed to know from Maggy's books. She is phenomenal!! Her work is absolutely amazing. Basically, Here are the steps (simplified) Â Made the design on my computer & had it printed full size. Â Cut it into "manageable" sections Â Laid the section I was working with on plywood and covered it in clear plastic Â Screwed wood blocks around the edge of the design and lined it with metal flashing Â Filled it about 1" deep in sand Â Placed the pebbles Â Poured in grout, then concrete Â After it cures, flip it over and clean it off Hope that gives you a general idea :)

I am expecting mine any day now. First refund I have received in the last 3 or 4 years. I do have to pay the state a little bit.

We're getting a lot back. We don't plan it that way, but it works out that way due to investments.

I had to pay for the first time in my life, Federal taxes. Not a whole lot, though. I adjusted my withholdings on both State and Federal since I got back too much from the State of KY.

Or, you could be like me and have such a low income, you don't even have to file. Not the best way to live, however.

I used to get refunds, too.
