sink base size for garbage disposal/instant hot/filtered water

We will be having two sinks in our new kitchen. We would like to have all of the following under our PREP sink: faucet/drain, compact garbage disposal, reverse osmosis filter, and instant hot tank. I am wondering what minimum size sink base we will need to fit all of this. We could put the RO filter and instant hot tank under the main clean-up sink (39" base cabinet), but it would be nicer under the prep sink. The prep sink base will be 21.5 or 24". Is this wishful thinking? Can I make it all fit? Aesthetically, 21.5" makes a nice symmetric look that I like.

I don't know how much space the RO takes, but everything else should fit with space left over. Are you going to have a soap dispenser? If so, with all that in there, I'd also allow a bit of room for a soap bottle and the Never MT if you can. If not, definitely use a top fill bottle. Also think about other cleaning supplies or tools you might want at the sink. I put in a tilt out for those, but it does push the sink further from the edge.

Under the counter, you should have plenty of room for all of this stuff, but accessing it to change filters / adjust temps may be difficult if the sink is too small. Up top, it may look a little crowded. If you find it to be tight, make sure your filter is easily reachable from the front (ie mount it on a side wall, not the back)

Here's ours in the butler's pantry. 33' double bowl sink, with the instahot, filtered, and faucet.

Looking at the picture, I can imagine having the filtered water disp on the far right corner, and shaving off some space in between... it would probably be fine.

I've had one for about a year-and-a-half and I use it a lot and really like it. Ours is plugged into the same outlet that our disposer is plugged into - no problems with that (it was done by electricians). I plugged mine into a programmable timer. I mostly only use the hot water in the morning for tea etc. and at night when making dinner. So I have it on a timer so that it runs for a period of time in the morning, and in the evening, but is off most of the middle of the day and overnight so that it's not continually heating water when I'm not likely to use it. I'm not sure if it saves a lot, but it was easy and inexpensive to do, and I guess it doesn't hurt.

we're planning this same set-up. I chose the blanco diamond super single because I wanted a single bowl sink with the drain off to the right side. We will also have a disposal and a hot water tap on the right. We planned it this way so we could free up the left side space for a garbage bin under the sink. We are planning for a rev-a-shelf double 35qt system which should fit perfectly. I'm waiting till our granite and sink are in before we do that though. On the other door I'm putting the rev-a-shelf sink base storage unit (holds dish soap, sponges..etc). My sinkbase is going to be jam-packed with stuff and it will hopefully make life easier. Thanks for the headsup, angela12345. I measured the GD and went to HD to measure the interior dimension of a 30" sink base cabinet. My oh my, a 30" sink base is TINY! But, it will have to do for now. The 33" sink base has more space inside and I wish we could put it in our layout without my being so bothered. Sigh. Alas, I really can't stand how the spacing of the sink base is uneven in relation to the already lopsided window on the wall. It makes me feel I am living in the winchester mystery house! So far, I have ascertained that it can hold our trash, recycle bin and compost pail, with a smidge of room left for fire extinguisher. Definitely no room for insta-hot water heater and filter. So, we nix that from our wish list. I am looking for a single bowl undermount. After some online research, I found a kindred sink KCUS30A-10/10BG that I like but I don't know if it's available online or not. I wish I could use the ticor sink but the one I like needs a 33" sink base. Bummer. The kindred sink I am interested in will have interior dimension of 27"W x 16"L x 10"H. Undercounter water filter / insta-hot / chiller

It's a new kitchen, so what about getting the kind of fridge that has cold water in the door? The instant scalding hot tank has to be undercounter near the tap. Also a water cooler if you get one. But a fridge can replace the water cooler. Here are a few details that may be good to know, brnstn. 1.) The water filter can be far far away, up high or down low somewhere not under the sink. So you could put it in the cabinet above the fridge or .... 2.) There are several kinds of water filter. Some are two large cylinders in series, and they give you a strong flow that *could* feed all the faucets. Some are tiny cylinders that produce a small flow; these then require special low-flow taps. 3.) In either case, the filtered water line could feed the IHW tank. This keeps the IHW tank cleaner as there is less sedimentation of gunk in the tank; then in turn this helps the tank last longer because there is then less corrosion. Any tank is a sedimentation device because the tank holds water, and every day, overnight, when all is quiet, particles and stuff will fall out of the water onto the bottom of the tank. (With house water heaters this is a big problem.)

Thanks for your photos and replies. Yes, we want the soap dispenser also. That's why we want ONE faucet for the instant hot and filtered water. That would be at least three "things" in total on the counter behind the prep sink: one faucet for instant hot and filtered water, one regular faucet, and one soap dispenser. Maybe four...disposal air switch as well? I was thinking of an undermount prep sink that is about 15" by 15" inside. I think it will work on the counter; I'm more concerned about underneath. I figure the rest of the cleaning supplies will be under the main clean-up sink and the dishwasher air gap will be there, too. Maybe I need to just buy all of the products ahead of time and see how it fits.
