Copper sink drain/strainers
Comments (3)I have a copper sink that ended up with a stainless flange for the disposal because the solid copper one I ordered (that was ReeeEEEaaaAally expensive) was too soft to hold the disposal, and bent/would have leaked. I intended to put a black one in (powder coated or something durable) but haven't gotten around to it. I think the site you mention may be the only place that does solid copper (probably for a reason!), and I didn't like the faux finish of any of the copper finishes I saw. I don't even notice it anymore, so probably I would have been fine with anything! I wonder if your guy just didn't know the difference? Maybe they were electroplated, although it doesn't seem like that would fail. Hmmmm. Anyway, be aware that the gorgeous solid copper pieces are soft, probably ok for a drain only but not for a GD....See MoreCopper Kitchen Sink Input
Comments (49)My pullout was part of the original design for my kitchen. It was why having a left rear drain for the sink was critical. This enabled me to have the garbage disposal to the side instead of the middle and so I could have the pullout under the sink. My kitchen is a small valley kitchen so I needed to maximize every inch. My life style isn’t such that I need a 42” sink but if the proportions look okay with the rest of your design and you can spare the counter, why not? @Joseph Corlett, LLC My Havens metal already had a patina so it looks like it did when it arrived except the splotches and streaks are in different places. 😂 But yes, copper sinks should have what is called a living patina in that they change because acidic foods will take the patina off for a shirt time and then air will change it back. This is different than the artificially patinaed finishes which will wear off and should be avoided. But a copper sink is not meant to be shiny and polished. If that kind of shiny look is your aesthetic, you definitely should not get a copper sink as it will always look lived in....See MoreSingle basin copper kitchen sink
Comments (23)A lot of what Dino says on his website can be independently verified with a little bit of effort. The Wayback Machine at archive.org is a great tool to do that. Being competitive and aggressively growing one's business is one thing; but what Dino reports here goes way beyond anything that I would expect from a business that I'd personally be prepared to trust. If a business treats their partners or even their competitors this way, then in my opinion, who is to say they won't do the same to their customers. Of course, as @Joseph said, you must decide for yourself if this is the narrative that you choose to believe....See MoreAnyone have a copper Sinkology kitchen sink?
Comments (4)I have a copper tub and learned it is affected by many cleaning materials, bubble bath, epsom salts, etc. I will forego using a copper sink because sinks are typically scratched by pans, and splattered with food debris, oils, coffee stains, etc, I want something I can keep clean. Lovely and showy, but not so practical....See Moredeeageaux
