Sharon, I love that plant, as you well know. I bet you'll have seedlings popping up later. They can't help themselves! I just noticed today that a whole lot of little Laura Bush seedlings are popping up all over the garden and mainly in the asparagus bed and several pathways. I'll try to find time tomorrow to pot up some of them to bring to the swap. Some years it stays in bloom for me nearly 12 months out of the year. I cut it back hard once or twice a year and it responds by putting out tons of lush new growth and flowers, and it does it in no time at all. I'm going to link some info about Laura Bush petunia for all the folks who are reading this and thinking that they've never heard of this plant. I have them in shades of pink and purple, and every now and then will get a pink that is so pale it is almost white. One year I had some pink-and-white streaked ones. Before Laura Bush, I did grow the VIP petunia referenced in the linked article and really liked it too, but it always was hard to find in nurseries in Texas when I lived there. Laura Bush is so easy from seed that it blows my mind. I bet I could sprinkle seed on the concrete patio and it would find a way to germinate and grow. I'm glad you're happy with it! Jud....I don't remember. You can make it to fit any frame you have...Bigger frame , cut bigger circles. I think we used a butter tub lid for our circles. I sat the picture on my scanner so it must be about the size of a legal paper. I forgot to say ...After we iron all the ornaments on we cut a piece of cardboard to fit the frame and taped the fabric tightly around the edges . Make sure you cut the background fabric a couple inches larger on each side so you can bring it around to the back for taping. Then we painted the pine boughs. First you just decide where you want the boughs and paint a brown stick center. Have them coming from behind the ornaments and some crossing over the top of them. Then paint the pine needles...lots and lots of them with a fine brush and quick strokes. I think I will make a few of them this year too. patti

Cloning from clones over the long term will turn your yield to leaves. You need to start from seed. Put seed in saturated wet peat pellet on heating mat 2 days MAX, place in small cup, cover with plastic wrap. When you see green leaves or similar transplant to a 4" pot(saturate with water,last time you'll ever saturate anything 100%, To not saturate=only watering one side only then the other side another time). If cup content becomes dry spray lightly. Always only use plain water. PH is 6.0, watch Temperature only at 75F, max 78F, never over 80F(that's when the heat mat was used). When You see 4/8 bottom holes with roots transplant to 6" pots then to home(biggest pot). Get a hydroponic cloning machine. Temps is as cold as you can, but 72F. Spray every 2 days, 1 per day max. Use/add liquid compost to the regular cloning solutions. When something goes wrong you stop and regularly start over with seeds...
