This is a repost from another thread ... since it was here that I originally asked the ??? Alan1 suggested to visit the sites I mentioned below ... 'thought would be helpful for those contemplating on acquiring some ... zone5 compatible Bamboos Hello Alan 1 - I thought to return to this thread to thank you, for your wise suggestion to visit Michigan as well as Needmore Bamboo Companies, for more info about Bamboo growing in our more trying zones! Needmore's "The reality of Growing Bamboos in Zones 5 & 6" particularly ... I quote: "I've recently come to terms with my 'zonal denial' and I accept that most springs I may have to clear cut nearly all of the previous year's above ground growth".& "I live on the edge of zones 5b/6 and in an average winter the temperature will fall to at least -10F. At these temperatures nearly every species of my bamboo collection will likely suffer total leaf loss and in all most cases, total top kill of the culms." He also warns wanna be or "new Bamboo growers" of other realities for at least 5 years! Reading through, I had to face the fact that at 72, I may not have the luxury of enjoyment since I already have 12-16 high to near-high-maintenance, Garden Divas + a female Ginkgo tree to enslave to!!! Â:( ... have several & love planting, remembrance/memorial plants that are meaningful & symbolic ... my baby brother lived in the Orient all his life ... what more beautiful & symbolic plant than a Bamboo, I thought!!! His name is Henry & July born, so my other choices are a *Clethra-Little Henry* or *Ivory Halo - Cornus Alba* red sticks in Winter (for July)! There were many encouraging Bamboo virtues ... resiliency, particularly, but for the emotional/sentimental reasons of my search, for a meaningful & symbolic memorial plant, at this stage of my gardening life ... I'll have to forego, Bamboo! Sigh!!! Â:( FWIW ... Enjoy your Bamboo plants & to all of you, Happy Holidays!!! Â;)

Cawfeegirl!!! You selected and installed your backsplash!!! Love it!! You have a beautiful kitchen....one I could enjoy a cup of cawfee in....or a glass of wine.;)

Question for ya'll. I got two fiddle leaf figs a few weeks ago. The little one looks great. The big one is leaning and I thought it would straighten out from the sun but it hasn't. I was gonna leave them alone till next year since it's late in the season but the one leaning is bothering me (OCD). I just bought some gritty mix and plan to buy some foliage pro 9-3-6. I don't wanna size up (unless suggested otherwise) I just wanna repot into better soil and set the plant up right. And since I'm doing the big one i might as well do the little one also, right? When you say to bare root it but keep it wet would I get a spray bottle and periodically spray the roots to keep them wet? Also when I bare root it how do I ensure that the gritty mix gets "all back up in the roots" when I repot. If that makes sense? Any videos you guys could link to help me visualize this? Should I trim the roots now or wait till next year? I'm open to suggestions. I really want to keep these babies alive as in the past I've killed succulents and this is my first plant ever owning. I'll attach photos of Shrek and Princess Fiona. Oh one more thing. On Shrek you can see some small growth at the bottom. Should I keep that? Thank you for any and all advice!

If the link still doesn’t work for you, you can also email Houzz support directly. I did that too. It’s not *just* an “app” issue, but I emailed “app support” because the email address was easier to find and I’m figuring it will get to the right place since it’s an app and website problem. Email address: appsupport@houzz.com Here’s what I emailed. Feel free to copy and paste if you want to make it easy, or put it in your own words. :-) —- Hello. Photos I am posting, and other members are posting, are showing up and disappearing intermittently on the app AND ALSO on the website (from any computer, phone or mobile device). I have noticed this is happening on multiple threads throughout several of the gardenweb forums. Are you upgrading photo servers? When will the problem be fixed? —-
