I won't be able to come. We will be in Oregon that weekend. I was hoping we would be leaving the following Sun or Mon, then I could come, but we're leaving on the 12th.

I need some help! We spend our winter's in Mission, TX (zone 9a) in a community that has a planned landscape with plantings which attract butterflies, hummingbird, dragonflies and a host of many others, all native or super hardy. Last September we noticed the grounds crew did a heavy pruning which caused many of the flowering shrubs to have less flowers... and we noticed a decrease in our butterflies, hummingbirds and the others. So, my question is this. When is the best time to trim our gardens. Our community is concerned that this fall the grounds crew will once again do a heavy pruning to make the landscape look 'pretty' ... thus causing us to AGAIN have a poor display of the migratory butterflies, humming birds etc. Can anyone share a links which will help guide us? Luvs, yes summer is going fast. Thank Heavens in my case. I am probably the only one on here who dislikes summer and can't wait for it to end. But when temps hit 100 by May and don't stop till late Oct, maybe y'all can understand. We get VERY little rain here, and over 300 days of sunshine. Phoenix has TWO seasons, hot and nice. I am longing for the nice, LOL. I never wear a coat, tho have a couple of light-weight jackets just in case. And my favorite days are GREY ones, which we get darn few of. I love clouds! I just added another 7 photos to the Fall album. Forgive me but put my own stacked plates from last year. Then there are 3 tablesettings along with 3 other new ideas. hugs, Karen

Benjamin is rapidly becoming a "Mini Me", but with you as his Dad that's no surprise. I love seeing how he wants to decorate, or have you take certain photos of things. He has a good little eye!! Now you make me want a couple of old trucks to decorate with. LOL hugs, Karen
