NEW: fotess october anniversary challenge!
Comments (151)Jayeanne.... Your envelope is in the mail and "should" be delivered on Saturday. I have the tracking number should it be needed. Here is a poem about October for all to enjoy... soon we'll see November and its cold winter stay: October's Party - George Cooper October gave a party; The leaves by hundreds came- The Chestnuts, Oaks, and Maples, And leaves of every name. The Sunshine spread a carpet, And everything was grand, Miss Weather led the dancing, Professor Wind the band. The Chestnuts came in yellow, The Oaks in crimson dressed; The lovely Misses Maple In scarlet looked their best; All balanced to their partners, And gaily fluttered by; The sight was like a rainbow New fallen from the sky. Then, in the rustic hollow, At hide-and-seek they played, The party closed at sundown, And everybody stayed. Professor Wind played louder; They flew along the ground; And then the party ended In jolly "hands around."...See MoreSeptember FOTESS - An Apple A Day!
Comments (315)Okay, I feel much better now! I had a great time with Tabitha and Myrna, more about that later. And the trip home thro Toledo went well, mainly because I bypassed Toledo all together and took the long way home. Anything to save stress and anxiety! I have only done a cursory look thro the posts, but want to address lots of them at some point before the month is over. So much interesting apple stuff! Ladies, you can take a break from posting "Apples of the Day" if you'd like, until Monday! Happy Weekend! Katie, thank you so much for posting the Bingo words for me, very much appreciate it! Margo, I got your email, glad you enjoyed the card! Jeanne, I don't know how that happened, the card arriving on the first day of Autumn. I mailed them all on Monday, as I was leaving. Glad you all enjoyed them! I had a great time creating them! Annie, did I forget to put the applebutter recipes in your package? Glad you liked it, but the applebutter was to be used with the recipes. Drat. Let me know. I totaled up the points from the bingo words for the past 3 days and here's what we ended up with: The Crisps garnered 7 points and the Macs got two. I'll post a points update tomorrow afternoon, along with the list of who sent and who received, and all the rest of the catching up! And last, but definitely not the least - Erica, where did you find that book? It was perfect! Ladies, I opened my package from Erica tonight, and she sent me a recipe book called, can you believe this, "An Apple A Day"! Unbelievable! It has 365 recipes, enough for a whole year. Erica, you nailed it with this! Good job! She also sent a nice Appley note and 3 packs of seeds, one tithonia and two lantanas. Thank you, Thank you! I'm heading for bed, talk to ya all tomorrow! Comments (120)Great pictures, Jayeanne! Margo, that sounds like a wonderful swap package. I need to look online so I can see the painting. Heidi, I love that you included a package of mustard. What fun! I'm pretty sure I sent some mustard to someone in a swap recently so it's getting popular. LOL Everyone has received this month so we are ready to head into October. I know Annie will have a fun idea for us, The only thing left here is for me to get out the prizes. I should be able to get them ready tomorrow - whether I make it to the post office tomorrow or not is to be seen. I got through the first of my two classes today and the people who took the class seemed to be enjoying it. I hope so. I hadn't taught anything in quite awhile so I worried about all the usual stuff - filling the amount of time, everyone looking bored, etc. Next week I teach "Cooking with Herbs" and someone wondered if I was going to bring samples. Maybe now I know why people signed up for the class! I don't like to post much about my grandchildren online. Their parents don't appreciate having details posted, but I will say one of my grandsons was in the hospital for 4 days and just got back home today. I don't want to go into specifics, but keep him in your thoughts and prayers if you are inclined. (It seems he was on my mind much more than preparing for my class once we found out about this. We're too far away to help, but we do really well worrying when there's a reason for that!) Cooler temperatures coming along for us this weekend. I can't wait. It was a hot sunny 93 when I got home this afternoon. The container of parsley that I took to class looked pretty unhappy about traveling in the car. Comments (111)Margo - finally got down to the post office and collected your package. Thank you so much! Beautiful embossed handmade card, she decorated a card for the recipe fro Caramel Apple pie as well, a big package of cinnamon sticks (yea! love them), seeds for Blackberry lily, Tomato soup coneflower and Morning Glory Grandpa Otts plus hand beaded earrings and bracelet in a little muslin bag. Was out with friends for dinner and I’m wiped (just in) so pictures have to wait until tomorrow....See Moresjc48
