I have so many buddleias and just this week and even today have been adding more. This time I am adding 2 "Miss Rubys", 4 Lo 'n' Behold Blue Chips, 1 Border Beauty, and 1 Butterfly Heaven and 1 Orange Sceptre. But I do not have a White Profusion. After reading your comments, maybe I will add one of those too. The problem for me is space. And every spring I do a lot of adding of plants because I tend to forget how large the existing plants will get again as summer approaches. Last spring I planted a Guinevere, a Peacock, a Purple Emporer, and an Opera. They look like this will be a good year for those since they are very full and compact already. It should be an interesting season also because I have added a bunch of native Buckwheats and some Hollyhocks and the milkweed seeds and plants are coming up everywhere. Yesterday, I had to prune my two trees so the new guys could get more sun. Oh, and I have added two new potted willows: an Arctic Blue and a Giant Pussy Willow. That makes 5 large potted willows. It has been a tremendous amount of work and a tremendous amount of joy as well. Murray

Lobelia would be a good nectar plant. Also False Nettles would love soggy soil and they host the Red Admiral butterfly. Ironweed (vernonia) is a great nectar plant, too, and likes moist soil. If you have room to plant another tree or shrub, try something in the prunus family (cherry). They host a myriad of butterflies and moths. The native aristolochia (pipevine) serpentaria (ground cover) or A. macrophylla (vine) is host to the pipevine swallowtails, and it looks like they are present in your area. They can take pretty moist soil, too, and some shade as well. Monkey flowers (mimulus) may host the Buckeyes and they will take a lot of moisture and part shade as well. You can also grow parsley there for the Black Swallowtail caterpillars. I've been to see the "rock" in Plymouth! It's gorgeous there. Susan

How long do you hold them before release? I actually have improved my chrysalis hamper quite a bit. There is a vase full of fresh, cut flowers and a platform where I can place an orange slice or other fruit. I try to give them enrichment items. I typically release them within hours, but I had one that didn't want to leave, so she hung out in the hamper for a couple of days and finally flew of on a sunny, warm morning.

Cindee All Native Garden Center is at 300 Center Rd in Ft. Myers. Thank goodness for car navigators. DH bought one for our vacation and now I am in love with it for finding distant nurseries. They were recommended by the Calsua Nature Center. Before I had to print everything out from google maps and read while driving. I love technology when it makes my gardening more fun. I also bought a red bay tree (2'), more pipevine, more corky passionflower, Tampa verbena and something called yellowtop (flaveria linearis). The nursery isn't as extensive as Biosphere but it's close and they have the butterfly plants I wanted and friendly people too.
