Kellycat....do you understand your situation, now? If you had been able to examine the tree webs, you'd find hundreds, thousands of Eastern Tent caterpillars. But those webs that you could see.....on shrubs or other lower lying location are the work of spider hatchlings. The egg sacs overwinter and hatch in the early spring. Coincidentally, the egg mass of the caterpillar has much the same story. There is nothing that needs to be done for either critter. I have sprayed the caterpillar nests with strong streams of water, just to break up the protective webbing. You'd be amazed at all of the different things that go after them, once they can get to them! Birds, frogs, lizards, squirrels, spiders, and all kinds of predatory insects.

Alejandro, most spiders are nocturnal. I know of no spiders that construct large webs in order to trap their prey that are highly venomous. But ALL spiders can bite if they are forced to and all inject their prey in order to disable it. Typically, the kinds of spiders found in large complex webs are considered beneficial and harmless. They are often found near human dwellings because the lights attract flying insects at night. Of course, you've not given us any helpful information that can lead to an identification. A flashlight may help you see more of the physical details of your spider; describe the shape of the web and share your general location.

The fuzz is normal. You can put this outside for the summer or, in temperate climates, all year round.

Moms in my condo complex organized a Trick or Trunk outing for the kids. Sorry I didn't take photos. We are not a big complex, 60 units in 2 buildings and we had about 10 or 15 trunks decorated and 20-30 kids if that many. One large bag of candy was all I needed. I had tons of kids books from board books to middle school level, several stuffed animals and boxes of crayons/markers. I set my SUV trunk up as a library with a small children's lamp, display of books, stuffed animals etc. I also had a very large round tub on the ground for toddlers full of books. It was a hit, every kid took a least one book and several children came back not for more candy but another book. In addition, every child got Dial-A-Teacher stickers and math and English crib sheets to help with homework . I spent a lot of time explaining to parents that DAT is free and available M-Th 4-7 for free help with homework to anyone pre-k-college. I was so happy that it was a hit. An added bonus, the stuffed animals found great homes and I got rid of lots of items from my apartment I no longer need or want. To explain why I have so many children's items, I am active in supporting several low income day care centers/Head Starts and am the receiver of tons of toys, books etc to share with the centers. Currently, the centers are either closed or not taking any donations due to Covid and I only have a small 2 bedroom apartment with little closet space. ETA-College not collage. UGH! I type too fast and my proof-reading skills leave a lot to be desired.
