I have no problem whatsoever after I first start my computer. My computer brings up our names, I click my name and it goes to the desk top. First I click up mail, and that takes a minute. Then I click on Internet Explorer, and that can take some time. (I think my computer automatically goes through a brief virus scan when I first click on I.E. Once my home page (Roses Forum) comes up, there are no more delays. I move from one forum to the next almost magically. My husband has zillions of I Tunes on our computer, and I think that is the cause of the initial delay. Why don't you call your provider, or ask on our Computer help Forum? I take that back. I just clicked on Preview Message, and stopped it at 30 seconds. I'll try again. Good luck Sammy

Wendy no 32 bit computer can use 4 gigs of memory. Vista likes 3 gigs assuming the motherboard is capable. My Windows7 computer has 4 gigs as a matched pair but I can only use 3.2 something gigs of that. 64 bit computer can use more but there is the issue of a lack of programs written for 64 bit machines. When you hear the whirring noise do you see the activity light on the front of the tower either running steady or very frequently flashing? This might be a lack of space on your hard drive. You can check the free space by clicking Start and My computer. If the used and free space does not show then right click on your C:\ drive and click Properties in the popup. 25% free space is nice, under 20 and you find the computer slowing and the activity light flashing a lot.

Mine isn't slow and I don't see the green links that have been mentioned. Sometimes my internet explorer freezes up on me here, but that has been happening on and off for a week or so. The only ad I see here is the Disney DVD ad on the right hand side.

It seems to be irratic. Have problems at times, but for today it is fine. They have been posting at the top the last couple weeks about problems you are describing. So they are definitely aware of them and working on this.
