Bosch Dishwasher Problems...
Comments (35)ged43, I'm so sorry about your problems. I can't help with all, but maybe I can help a little bit with your dishwasher not cleaning well. With these Bosch Dishwashers I find when there is a cleaning issue it is generally a problem with the install or similar. I realize your time is limited but you can check some of these items in less than 10 minutes total. 1,) look under your sink and see if the drain hose which I think is white-ish and corrugated, is laying on the floor or is attached up high just under the counter before going to the drain connection. If it is not see if you can take a string or something to tie the hose up high but first pull on the hose to make sure none has been left behind the dishwasher. 2.) pull out the bottom rack and open your filter by turning the round handle counter clockwise. Pull out all the filters and inspect and clean them. They should be checked every couple months. 3.) check your detergent. The detergents without enzymes just are not very effective. I recommend Cascade Complete Pods or Finish Quantum to my customers. 4.) make sure you are using the Normal or Auto wash. The Bosch dishwashers have sensors that check water and soil conditions. If you select a Quick Wash these sensors are bypassed. 5.) Do not completely rinse your dishes. When clean dishes are put in the dishwasher the sensors will sense that there is no soil and shorten the wash cycle. Scrape off the big stuff but let the sauces, gravy, etc. stay 6.) If you haven't done so, run a dishwasher cleaner like dishwasher magic or glisten through your d/w. This will clear out any hard water deposits that can affect the cleaning ability of the d/w. 7.) if you've done all the above call the 800 number on your detergent box. There are d/w cleaning experts on their detergent hotline that will be able to help you. I hope these suggestions work for you and may God bless you....See MoreBosch sale at Lowe's + moving coupon = dishwasher SHE55R56UC $607
Comments (2)On sale again. I'm not sure when the sale ends, but I love this dishwasher and would definitely recommend it. Super quiet and easily adjustable racks. It's very energy efficient and dishesI've had no problems with dishes coming out wet even though there isn't a heated drying cycle...the dishes come out piping is done hot and dry when the cycle is done. It might not be a great option if you have super thick pottery style dishes, as the rack times are spaced slightly tighter than some other brands. The only drawback I can think of is the lack of a rinse only feature and no quick wash if you're trying to plow through the dishes after a dinner party, which would occasionally come in handy. If I remember correctly, these features are only available on the 800 series. I think it's the best dishwasher available at this price point...grab one if you're in the market!...See MoreDoes anyone else HATE their stainless appliances?
Comments (37)@msrose,Yes, I got the spray, it is a lightweight spray and it doesn't feel oily and not at all once it is dry. It's not thick like some of the sprays are. So far I'm in awe of it but this is the second day and so far so good! I have tried so many others that like you were saying, they are oily and I would have to rub and rub to get it to do anything and then it was streaky, or else it looked good but then would dry streaked. I hope it will work well for you too. I am sure you can find it in the store for less. I got it on Amazon and by the time I paid for shipping it was $10.95 or somewhere in that neighborhood for the smaller can but I knew I would never remember to get it when I was out and about so I just paid it "this time"... a2gemini, I gave up on training DH. I think he must have been a rebellious teenager, there is some hangover from that going on, lol. But he is so cute, I can't get mad at him : 0 This post was edited by gr8day on Thu, Feb 20, 14 at 9:59...See MoreAnyone have one of the new Bosch Dishwashers?
Comments (24)@whirlpool_trainee, I also open my door to let it air dry but the blast of steam that comes out is fairly substantial. It is hot and humid a lot of months here and I always hate doing this in the summer. Plus, I wonder if the sudden steam coming out is good for the finish on surrounding cabinets. I also wish I could say the Bosch remains quiet. It started out so quiet but now it sounds just like any other DW. For $1000, I expected better. You can hear all the sloshing and the circulation motor humming during the circulation cycle. Absolutely no need for a light shining on the floor as I can hear it several rooms away. I complained to Bosch but manufacturer's warranty is expired as the unit is 18 months old. I clean the filter every two weeks by removing it completely and hosing and brushing it off, use the newer DW cleaning tabs that are now available here in the States and run an empty cycle. I have examined the impeller for something that might be stuck but didn't find anything. I am at a loss. I have an extended warranty but complaining about the increased noise level is not grounds for service according to the repair firm. They told me it must stop washing, draining, etc. I am alone here but given the difficulty in the way it loads, the need to open the door to a blast of steam for adequate drying and the now louder noise (way, way over 40 Db), I am very disappointed and will never get another Bosch. I know it is a beloved machine by many, just not me. So to the OP, I think the Miele is a good choice and I hope you find your answer about whether you can add panels after purchase. That question interests me as well....See MoreRelated Professionals
