I am just getting very excited to share real pictures of a real kitchen later this year. Looking at the rough in plumbing today helped me realize that the Rachiele sink will not languish in our rental garage much longer and living with my Quartersawn oak cabinets in boxes in our rental living room for the next 5 months will make for great laughs down the line! Hope to attach picture of my tile mural from Somi Tileworks and samples of cabinet wood and color, hardware, Green Iron Soapstone, and a large sample of new BM Color Stories Rocking Chair as paint color for most of house. Check the READ ME thread for info on posting pictures in the body of threads. Much easier and better than having multiple threads. :)

she's beautiful golfguy! enjoy safely. please continue to keep us up to date on your purchases. and don't mind the occasional insult. it happens a lot around here. i live in a big golf town but don't play myself. i was thinking of some lessons though, since i can't ride horses anymore (accident in fancy automobile i was driving years ago. way too much car for a 17 year old girl!) i don't care to see the toothbrush but if you've got any art around (besides the bentley) i'd love to have a peek at it. More than likely, no one will notice what you've used for hardware. Think for a moment of every kitchen you've been in since you started thinking Remodel. What is the hardware on every door/drawer they have? Can't remember? Maybe if you sat at their table to drink coffee for an hour you would study the hardware. Otherwise, probably not. It's the over all look that's important, not the individual items used to make the look. I'm stressing over each of these decisions myself and I have to remind myself that it's everything together that will make the room.

I did not have time to read all of the replies but to offer a bit of friendly support from someone who has recently been there and done that...we fnally sold our house about 9 months ago after a year on the market. Prospective buyers, especially in today's market, are just very fickle sometimes and trying to predict what they will go for is beyond me. We had redone our kitchen with Wolf/SZ etc (all top end appliances) nice granite etc so it was very updated (and the house was only 7 years old anyway). In the beginning everyone said "That kitchen will sell your house in a minute and bring a premium. Well, as the market tanked, the most common comment was "Nice kitchen but we really don't cook that much" or..."Kitchens are not our thing" etc. Another dig was the wall color in one small room. Many people did not like it at all. Hello! It was one room...2 gallons of paint at most...paint it whatever floats your boat for about $200. I even stipulated in the fact/seller allowance sheet that we would repaint rooms for an allowance up to $1,000. My point is that in such a down market, people focus on what is wrong or they don't like (not what is right or they do like) to negotiate the price down even further. What a difference 24 months makes! Anyway, good luck. I know selling right now is stressful at best. FWIW, when you least expect it, someone will walk in and say, "I love it!".

Hello all, I posted a couple weeks ago for help in finding wall color and lights. Those improvements are decided on and I’m confident the changes are all good ones (I’ll post after pictures the week of 16-20), now I need help in finishing touches. I know it’s more of a personal taste thing but this is my third attempt this year..first two epic fails! So I thought I’d open a discussion and learn somthing regarding wall decor. It was suggested by ingrid_vc so. CA zone 9 that I “put a beautiful painting on that long dining room wall”, does anyone know if a canvas would work? I have a lot of empty space to fill and want to complete this one day!! It’s a surprise so don’t post in the other thread as my wife is following it. She wasn’t thrilled with the idea of yet another redo. Hopefully she’ll be glad when she comes in. So I’m gathering up my materials, paint, lights, smart dimmers etc and will put it all up and get it all painted and installed in one day! Any suggestions in any way are appreciated big time! I'm also a quartersawn oak fan. The hardware is really unique and complements the wood and fabric perfectly. I'm curious to know more about the fabric choices and how you'll be using them.

Gorgeous materials. I know you didn't ask but I will say that the paint reads a little red on my monitor. To me it looks good with your hardware, wood, probably the stone too. I don't like the way the middle two fabrics look with the paint.

What do you think? I know lighting and room placement play such a big part in how colors read. Cameras and monitors play their part too.

Thanks all! The hardware is Anne at Home, Hammersmith.there are also backplates for the pulls I did not put in picture. It is a small house, 1320 sq feet under roof surrounded by our five acre farm. Tried to maintain color scheme for the whole house. Fabric is actually for Master BR, Powell Collection, by Eastern Accents, I did not intend an Arts and Craft style, everything has just evolved from the soapstone and DH insisting he would have quarter sawn oak. After that, I just continued to search for things I loved! There will be some major red accents with a sliding barn door and in the counter stools(having trouble finding these, at least that someone will ship to Hawaii). There have been many misadventures in this experience, so believe me, I can't wait to see it either!
