Check if you bank by email

Check the address where the payment is suppose to go. I just noticed that one of my CC changed from NV ot IA without telling anyone.

Never thought to do that. I bank online and many of my payments are electronic transfters, though a few are paper checks. his would be a good think to check occasionally, to avoid missing a payment.

I don't bank by email.

When another errand in the vicinity, go into the branch, present my CC bill, they transfer the amount that I indicate, electronically. At no fee, as I'm a senior.

No delay.

No cheque needed (but they don't charge me for my cheque supply: another senior benefit).

No postage, either - Canada Post doesn't do seniors' benefits.

Peppi sent a box of goodies, lot's of goodies, from Trader Joe's! I sent her a thank you e-mail for my swap box and that I would post a thread a little later. Boy I'm glad I sent that thank you e-mail. It wasn't my swap box....it was a box of goodies for Camp Fais-Do-Do :-)

mfbenson - ha ha - my screen name was for my lack of vision (originally kitchen forum...) which was "I'll know it when I see it" rather than "I'll believe it when I see it". But it works for this forum better with your idea!! amysrq & roselvr - tell yourself you'll have a buyer by St. Pat's Day...keep the faith, lower the price if you have not already. Be lowest price/square foot and the next buyer will not be able to ignore you!! Good luck!!

Snopes and Urbanlegends are excellent resources. Also you can simply use your favorite search engine. Search for email and the title that's given, or even a topic and you'll usually find out quickly. All emails should be taken with a grain of salt. Any email that has attachments should be scanned at least once and if it's an executable (.exe) file, it's going to do something when you open it so it's not a picture or a document. Get your computers tightened up folks, looks like we're in for a bit of a rough ride. Don't be paranoid, just don't be foolish. Safe surfing all!

I've never heard of banking by e-mail, and wouldn't do it.
My banking info sitting on a e-mail server? No way.

On-line banking is not email....and it's secure, e-mail is not.
