Hot Water Filter ???
Comments (4)Periodically drain your water heater. A filter installed - anywhere - most likely will not help, unless it happens to be a water softener. Boil some of yoor "hard" well water, you'll see why... Calcium deposits fill your water heater. Turn the water heater off, be it at a gas valve or breaker, attach a garden hose to the bib faucet at the bottom, open the valve and let it run. Do not open any hot water faucets while doing so - they do not have the little screens in them and are a PITA to clear when packed full of calcium deposits....See MoreKitchen Layout help
Comments (15)I noticed the same problems as laxsupermom, and not as many as Bmore (typical). Can the table move toward the family room or be in it? The baking center across the room (and around and through things) from the oven is a definite problem I don't think you need to have. Is it only a hallway behind the pantry? (I might consider a closet depth pantry that opened toward the hall to put a baking center on the kitchen side) Other than the possible door interference problem Bmore pointed out, I like the location of the fridge and would put the microwave in the bottom shelf of an upper cabinet between it and the stove. It looks like you might have room to shift things down so that the fridge opens into the aisle in front of the ovens, which I think would be great. I would also shift the prep sink down to the corner by the fridge, so it's also useful to the baking area I was talking about...and handy for the microwave, washing hands for kids coming through the side of the kitchen, etc. Now I've taken so long drawing what I mean, that maybe others have jumped in ahead with better ideas! But here are mine (just rough starts):...See MoreLooking for Kitchen faucet, water filter faucet and soap dispenser
Comments (12)@phemrajani Yes, all faucets must be R/O certified. If you use one that is not certified for R/O use, the pure water will bond with potentially dangerous metals and you will be ingesting all of that! Some faucets have trace (and legal) amounts of lead or other metals that should not be ingested. Regular water will not pull these metals out of the faucet. R/O water will. This is a quote from that article that might sum things up for you so you won't have to read the entire article. “Demineralised water that has not been remineralized, or low-mineral content water – in the light of the absence or substantial lack of essential minerals in it – is not considered ideal drinking water, and therefore, its regular consumption may not be providing adequate levels of some beneficial nutrients.”...See MoreBest water filter for under sink cabinet?
Comments (3)As far as I'm aware, it's the flow rate that needs to be compatible so you should check specs for your faucet. I wish I could be more help but maybe someone will weigh in....See Moremisplacedtxgal
