How do I renew my Passport

I just found out my passport has expired, how and where do I renew it?

I don't plan on going out of the country until next year but want a valid passport then.

Go to the post office with your expired passport, a passport photo and your check book. You will fill out a form and they mail your old passport and the check and form. In a couple of weeks your new and old passports will be mailed to you.

It is done by mail, fill out the form, mail it to passport services along with a photo, your old passport and a check and you will get your new passport back (along with the old one) in several weeks.

Initial bed fill is generally bulk purchased mushroom compost, heaps of leaves, even chopped up brush, dumped in the lowest spots if its handy. I do occasoinally extend a bed by placing the compost ring on the end of and existing bed and moving it on when the lower parts are "done". Topping off is now mostly homemade. Applied with a shovel to approximately level, renewed bi-annually (spring and fall).

Typical government rip-off, you get cheated out of 6-9 months of a 10 year purchase. (Why not make it 11 years??) Book to your hearts content, travel people could care less if you have one or not. But they remind you that boarding can't be done without proper documentation. I got mine right before the last price hike. Some peoples travel qualifies them to use the Passport Card. Cheaper. You get your old one back, punched invalid, but keep it. It is still a vaild form of ID. Happy travels to some beautiful sunny beach.

What a beautiful big space! I love pinkmountain's comments and I am for all of what she said. I thought I would throw my two cents in as well. I see two areas for improvement: it looks dry so I would increase the plantings to include lush plants that thrive in your area. Also, it needs color. I agree getting much bigger planters to divide and define spaces. For instance, you have three long planters at the back - they would look much better if they were all in one planter that was twice as high. That is something you can make yourself from the pallets. Consider adding either colorful plants or painting your new long.ca rectangle planters a bright teal, yellow, etc. A "rule" for planter design is to have a tall spiky element in the middle, smaller clumping plants around it and then trailing plants along the side. For a long planter you would have 3-4 spiky elements with the more compact plants surrounding them and then trailing plants at intervals. Here is an example from pinterest for a cooler climate Same design principles for a dessert climate (from Houzz) I would love to see six long planters, two next to the home, two against the far wall framing the view and establishing your color scheme as you walk in and then two along the back wall. You can keep some of your existing planters - love the tall ones - especially if you clump them together with different sizes in informal groups but the new planters will provide the cohesion.

Your post office does this for you? Here we can mail them, but I don't trust Canada Post to get it there and back..... had some serious problems 5 years ago. It's safest in Canada to take it to the passport office.

No you get the passport info at the post office or on line and mail it at the post office.

I was a tiny bit anxious when I had to mail my passport, but new one arrived safe and sound.

Not all US Post Offices can take passport applications or renewals. Call the main post office in your area to find out which and what hours they are open.

In my area there are three offices, but the one close to me only has passport service 3 days/week, only from 1:00 - 3:00.

It's nothing to be worried about, but it is something to call ahead about. Not all post offices are set up for passport service.

Post offices don't take passport renewals. They have the FORMS that you fill out and MAIL to the nearest passport office.

Well, I betcha' I will have to go to a larger city for this.
I will check with our post office but have my doubts. I don't have a clue as to who makes passport photos in our area.
Why does things have to be so complicated for old folks???

We live in a small town. We downloaded the forms, went to WalMart and got our passport photos, and mailed them in with our old passports. Worked great. There was a post office about 20 miles from us that did it, too, but they charged a sur-charge to handle it.

Our Post Office processes Passport renewals...That's where I got mine renewed.
They have the form for you to sit down and fill it out, will take the passport picture for you, and then send it off with your check.

Easiest way to renew.

Monica, our post office does the renewals also. At least they tell you what you need, who to make the check out to, they double check the size of your passport photo and they help you mail it away. There is a special passport window at our post office.

I just renewed ours a week ago. Found the forms online, filled them out and printed them, had a new pic taken at the UPS store (only $4.99) and enclosed the form, the old passport, and a check for $110 in separate, padded envelopes. They have not arrived yet, but I expect them soon. BTW, you can RENEW even if they are expired by no more than 5 years.
