I just found out my passport has expired, how and where do I renew it?

I don't plan on going out of the country until next year but want a valid passport then.

Many thanks,

Charlene

Go to the post office with your expired passport, a passport photo and your check book. You will fill out a form and they mail your old passport and the check and form. In a couple of weeks your new and old passports will be mailed to you.

It is done by mail, fill out the form, mail it to passport services along with a photo, your old passport and a check and you will get your new passport back (along with the old one) in several weeks.

Keen, since you're already using Photobucket, just use the HTML code instead, and it will work. If you right click on the HTML code that pops up when you scroll across the photo, it should copy it, and then you can paste into your GW text box. Steve, it's been my very limited experience that melons are fickle. The same variety that does great one year, is a dud the next. Last year, we planted some Orangeglo very late, and still got two or three small to medium sized, very sweet watermelons. This year, it was planted right on time, and hasn't set fruit yet, and now the vines are dying back. Most of the melons I do get, are much smaller than the size advertised. This picture is deceiving. This Early Moonbeam Watermelon is only the size of a grapefruit. Steve, it's a yellow melon, from Seeds of Change. I'll get back to you on its flavor. Here is one of my Blacktail Mountain Watermelons. They are about the size of a grocery store Honeydew melon. It is my best producer this year, so maybe you should give it another try? This is Amish Melon, and it has maybe four, small canteloupe sized melons on it. Another first for me this year, Canoe Creek. It only has 3 fruit on it, but they are canteloupe sized, and may get a bit bigger yet. Those are all at the community garden. Here at the house, I have Jenny Lind, and Banana Melons, but no pics of them. Bonnie

My passport had long expired, but when my daughter was anticipating doing a study abroad semester, I decided we should have a little mother/daughter lunch/passport celebration, even though my husband and I were not planning on going to see her at the time. Glad that I did it though, because we decided we just had to go meet the wonderful family hosting her, and oh, why not go to London and Paris on our way to Spain?? Plus, we get to think of our fun day together each time we look at those fabulous passport pics! elizabethzen - thanks for the reminder on the intl dl; we have whetted our appetite for more intl travel and may just get adventurous and try driving our next trip. And if anyone is going to Paris for lunch, can I come too?

Glenda, from another site I read, this woman has reservations for a cruise next January and she said this the other day: I've been reading a message board called www.cruisecritic.com, which has everything and more you'd need to know about cruising. On that board I found out about a sweet little piece of software called Cruise Shark, which you can download for free and install on your computer. You enter the cruise you're taking and the price you're paying, and it constantly checks for price reductions on your cruise (or "price drops" in cruiser lingo). Lo and behold, last night I logged on to my laptop and it said "Congratulations! There is a price drop!" I called Royal Caribbean and said "I understand the price of my cruise has gone down and I'd like you to adjust my fare," and they said "We'll be happy to do that," and we ended up saving FIVE HUNDRED FIFTY DOLLARS

how long to get passport?

Hi irislover, we needed to renew our passports for our vacation to Scotland and England this summer. For just the renewal it took close to 8 weeks to get them back in the mail. Please be careful about those 24 hour services. I have never heard of anyone getting a new passport in 24 hours...even in an emergency. Make sure you have filled out the forms completely and correctly. Your photo has to be taken by an authorized photo shop. Our friend thought he could get away with just taking his digital camera and taking the photos. His passport application was rejected because he did that. And yes, all the families' photos are horrible! I haven't had a good photo yet! NancyLouise

Your post office does this for you? Here we can mail them, but I don't trust Canada Post to get it there and back..... had some serious problems 5 years ago. It's safest in Canada to take it to the passport office.

No you get the passport info at the post office or on line and mail it at the post office.

I was a tiny bit anxious when I had to mail my passport, but new one arrived safe and sound.

Not all US Post Offices can take passport applications or renewals. Call the main post office in your area to find out which and what hours they are open.

In my area there are three offices, but the one close to me only has passport service 3 days/week, only from 1:00 - 3:00.

It's nothing to be worried about, but it is something to call ahead about. Not all post offices are set up for passport service.

Post offices don't take passport renewals. They have the FORMS that you fill out and MAIL to the nearest passport office.

Well, I betcha' I will have to go to a larger city for this.
I will check with our post office but have my doubts. I don't have a clue as to who makes passport photos in our area.
Why does things have to be so complicated for old folks???
Thanks for all the information.

We live in a small town. We downloaded the forms, went to WalMart and got our passport photos, and mailed them in with our old passports. Worked great. There was a post office about 20 miles from us that did it, too, but they charged a sur-charge to handle it.

See the site below.

Our Post Office processes Passport renewals...That's where I got mine renewed.
They have the form for you to sit down and fill it out, will take the passport picture for you, and then send it off with your check.

Easiest way to renew.

Monica, our post office does the renewals also. At least they tell you what you need, who to make the check out to, they double check the size of your passport photo and they help you mail it away. There is a special passport window at our post office.

I just renewed ours a week ago. Found the forms online, filled them out and printed them, had a new pic taken at the UPS store (only $4.99) and enclosed the form, the old passport, and a check for $110 in separate, padded envelopes. They have not arrived yet, but I expect them soon. BTW, you can RENEW even if they are expired by no more than 5 years.
