Need Reeses PBCup and chocolate cookie recipe

A good friend who is battling cancer loves chocolate cookies and Reeses PBCups. I would like to combine the two but am not very sucessful when trying things without a recipe. I have a large bag of regular Reeses cups and hope to chop these into a cocoa flavored cookie recipe, would that work or will the candy scorch or burn?

Any help will be greatly appreciated, Les

Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup Cookies

Yields: 36 servings
"These are THE BEST cookies I have ever eaten. They are a definite hit. If you like peanut butter and chocolate - these cookies are for you!"
INGREDIENTS:
1 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup creamy peanut butter
3/4 cup white sugar
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
1/3 cup cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup semisweet chocolate
chips
1 cup peanut butter chips
10 chocolate covered peanut
butter cups, cut into eighths
DIRECTIONS:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, peanut butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until smooth. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla. Combine the flour, cocoa, and baking soda; stir into the peanut butter mixture. Mix in the chocolate chips, peanut butter chips, and peanut butter cups. Drop by tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.
3. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven. Let cool for 1 or 2 minutes on sheet before removing, or they will fall apart.

These aren't cookies, but actually more like Reeses PB cups and So Easy. Cut into bars, they are decadently good. You can see by the number of ratings how well-loved they are. A Best Recipe for certain!

I agree, they are very good, though I made them without the white chocolate (don't like it), and I used a lot less cranberries. It's a good cookie dough, too, which is the real test of a cookie.

Here's the one I've been using for years. Hope it's what you're looking for. 2 c. sugar Â¼ to Â½ c. cocoa Â½ c. milk 1 stick oleo 2 c. 1 minute oatmeal Â½ to Â¾ c. extra crunchy peanut butter 1 tsp. vanilla 1 c. coconut ( optional ) Mix first four ingredients. Boil for one minute. Remove from heat and add remaining ingredients. Do not stir too much. Cool to luke warm and drop from teaspoon onto wax paper.

Lizbeth, you are more than welcome. I hope this recipe is the "magic" one for you, but even if it's not, well, they're still cookies and how can that be bad? :-) plllog, normally I use butter, but this one called for half butter, half shortening. Normally I'd ignore that and use butter, but Grandma's Chewy Molasses cookies require half shortening or they don't turn out right, so I followed the recipe and used half shortening/half butter. I didn't flatten them at all, left them just as they came out of the cookie scoop, they would have been thin and crisp if I'd have flattened them, I think. I always use cane sugar, gave up beet sugar (although it's local and that hurt me) because of the GMOs. I also liked the little bit of flavor from the almond extract. I'm not a huge fan of CC cookies, but I used extra dark chips and they were better, plus the half-and-half ratio of brown sugar and white sugar helped keep them chewy. And, as you noted, I was very careful to not overbake, that's the most common reason cookies don't stay chewy. Ricky, those look pretty darned good. Mine are all gone, I suppose I should make some more..... Sheila, like you I always added about 1/4 cup of flour to the Toll House Cookie recipe on the back of the chocolate chip bag. So interesting how a little bit of this or that...or none at all...can make a difference. Years ago I had a request to make a lot of decorated sugar cookies for an event. I was so frustrated because my TNT recipe was NOT working. The cookies were spreading like crazy in the oven. I was pretty frustrated since any/all advice I got from those I thought could help were all tips I already knew. I'd even sent an email to Shirley Corriher. Plus, I'd made the cookies a zillion times. Finally, a caterer I knew asked about my baking sheets. I'd bought those insulated "air-bake" cookie sheets and was using them. Never even thought about that and no one else had asked. She told me to go back to my faithful non-insulated, heavy-duty aluminum pans. She said the insulated sheets heat more slowly giving the cookies more time to spread. Problem solved! I've since had others tell me they don't have the spread problem with their insulated sheets. IDK...could be it was just the brand I'd bought but they're long gone.

Les. a friend of mine made these for me while I was nursing a sprained ankle. They were awesome and easy to make.
Brownie Bites
Prepare your favorite brownie recipe, (either homemade or boxed) according to directions.
Line mini muffin tins with paper liners. Spoon batter into tins. Bake 15-20 mins. Check after 15, you don't want them over baked. Place a PB Cup in each while still warm. Enjoy. Gina
