Ed, it says they have three coats of sealer on them. I think a damp rag would clean any smudges or dirt as long as you did it as soon as noticed. I might order one for the pantry.

I wrote to ask about kitchen trash cans and they said altho they have had other inquiries in regards to trash cans they are not set up to do those "at this time".

I can't recall where I got them but at some point in the last 10 years, I found clear switch covers. You could either insert a piece of wall paper or paint paper to match your walls. Way easy to use and keep clean. I'll look to see if I can find a link or something.

i used to be so anal that my wallswitches were covered with paper and matched the wallpaper...boy those days are long gone...(so is wallpapering in my house)...I do have my dining room done in wallpaper and the switches as well but it's so much easier to paint!

Ed, I just said they have three layers of sealer on them. Unless your hands are covered in mud or potting soil, I don't think you'd have to clean them every time you turned the light on. How dirty are your plastic light switches now? or maybe they are dark brown like some of mine in the older parts of the house, can't see grime on those very well.

$12 to $80 for a two dollar switch cover - ya gotta be kidding. Those are nice, but not $80 nice.

I don't see an $80 switch plate cover. I saw some lamp shades for that price.

I wonder where they get the vintage wallpaper? Either they came upon a great stash or they have to buy it, then they have the plastic switch cover to buy, then the labor, then the shipping. I've seen wooden ones for that price.

Wouldn't pay $30 for a switch plate cover unless it was the perfect accessory to put the finishing touch on your decorating.

With about a half acre of land to deal with which provides about 3/4 of a mile of row for my veggies ...I don't deal much in "potting soil" (and it doesn't get one's hands as dirty as plain, old dirt, anyhow, does it?).

I can get pretty dirty no matter what the soil. lol My garden is still covered with a layer of leaves laid down last Fall. As usual I haven't decided if I'm going to put in some lettuces this season or not. If so, I'd better get the leaves off so the ground can dry off. It's not nearly as big as your plot though. Wish I was as ambitious.

The $80 cover plate was found by following a link in one of the posts that takes you to an ordering page showing many different styes and prices. Many were at $15 dollars or a little more, but one did glare "$80".

These are very cute. So many ways to use them too.

After I had my kitchen refaced, I painted the outlet covers myself to match the tiles.
