There is a nice looking trachycarpus fortunei 8 to 10 feet tall on the corner of caldwell mill road and mountain view parkway (between Spain Park and Valleydale Road). It's on the right side of mountain view parkway in the front yard of the house behind the Altadena South Sign and looks very happy to be there. The are two Sabal Palms on 280 in Chelsea at the entrance to a self-storage business. They are large trees, but one of them looks stressed.

OMG I'm so excited you have no idea. We've been eating burgers, pizza, and chinese for 8 weeks. If I never see another grilled "anything" it will be too soon. We cooked tonight on the cooktop even without the hood in and used the oven. We went to the grocery and I only bought meals for this week that don't normally use a deep fryer or microwave or grill. I got ingredients for chicken n dumplings, spaghetti and meatballs, a really good potroast, and meatloaf with brown beans, collards with ham, and cornbread. lol It was soooo cool to be able to spread out and work. I am also going to make biscuits in the morning, and country ham and sausage gravy. And omelets maybe.. I dunno, depends on who I can wake up and entice to the table. I need to take a class in order to learn how to operate the appliances.

What a beautiful little girl Joan....those are some killer eyes shes got there..... ~Kathy~

Hi all, It's been awhile since we've done our last update on our herb garden. We went away on vacation for a few days and came back to some sad looking plants. We made sure the jars were full before we left, but unfortunately our plants were too thirsty. The basil and mint plant jars were bone dry and the plants were drooping like crazy. This is a picture from our cat sitter from halfway through the vacation. She was a bit worried! Luckly for us, when we got back all we had to do was refill the jars and a day or two later we had some happy and healthy plants. We've already had a couple meals with the basil and the parsley. I'm in the process of looking up some great Mojito recipes for the wife and me. Looking forward to those! Here are a couple pictures of the happy plants that I just took this morning. They love this light! Crazy roots!
