My Brunfelsia gigantea finally bloomed! The scent is more 'perfumey' with a clove undertone at night. I've noticed that I can detect a sweet scent before sunset and sometimes in the morning (without the clove undertone). The first time it bloomed there was only one flower and I had to stick my nose to it to detect any scent. Now that I have two flowers open it is beginning to waft and I can smell it without having to get close. My only gripe about this brunfelsia is how huge and wide it is! It takes up the bulk of my window space. :( Not a problem with those who have the room I suppose. I got this in spring and it bloomed within a year just as Logee's site stated it would (my B. nitida only bloomed once in the two years I had it and it had a strong clove like scent with no sweetness). In the background on the left growing on the windowsill is Brunfelsia densifolia/densiflora (looks like a little pine tree). It's supposed to have a spicy scent but is not as stingy with its blooms. :) -Robert

Caprician Fiesta -always out does it's self At first Blush - I think this is my absoulte favorite pink that I have. Just so elegant and pretty. Pumpkin Perfect- the color of orange sherbert mouth watering! Trahlyta- Very pretty bloom, low bud count this year Watchyl Digital Scream - still only a double fan, but has been blooming for two weeks already-sorry this one's sideways. I thought I was the only one experiencing problems with my tomato plants. A few have collapsed, others had some sort of fungus, few with alot of dried branches. Pulled out Cherokee Purple, did nothing but two very early fruit that stayed on idle forever. The ones that are doing the best are two Grosse Lisse that I started from seed. I was going to throw them away after I got on to this forum and decided at the last minute to stick them in the ground under the gum tree. No pruning, no fertilising, no staking, no watering and not in the best of position and they look super healthy with loads of fruit. Go figure!

Check out this website about camping. North Padre Corpus Christi We were right on the beach where it meets the dunes. We did the primitive camping although I believe there are regular camp sites some place. We drove about ten miles down the beach on the packed sand. There were RV's. Our pop up camper needs a repair so we didn't bring it. It was easier to tent camp for this trip. I have to get ready for homecoming in a few minutes so I can't post pictures. It was beautiful. We picked a period of wind. If it's not windy and there is no red tide, it should be really nice.
