They are pretty and I am waiting on her to give me some when they are mature. ;) Not sure how I'll eat it since I've heard they are starchy if eaten fresh. Guess I try cooking them as suggested. The tree is about 10-12' tall and in full sun. She's had to apply supports to the tree since it always seems to want to fall over in a rainstorm.

Plantomaniac, those are beautiful....the purple blooms are the best.....I had some small pots but none ever bloom for me.

Oh the horrid things that I put on my plants! First of all I might as well fess up and incure the rath of all by telling that I am a Jerry Baker fan. Yes, everyone thinks that he is a quack but my grandpa swore by his methods and had a fab garden. I also spray with asprin water, 'juice' made from grass clippings, fish heads, rabbit poo etc. I made a brew about a month back that turned even my stomach. I swore I would never do that again but my plants are doing so well that I may change my mind. Besides, the smell only lasts about a half hour...... That is unless I am spraying the whole lawn with fish poo ;-) My husband has forbidden me to do that anymore when he is at home. I can't say that I have any real reason for doing it other than it is fun and it provides a lot of shock value for the neighbors.
