As suggested above need to know what engine? My CC RTZ42 has a cheap briggs on it and alot of them now have Kohlers. I would you take the spark plug back out and see if it turns over while watching the spark plug hole in the engine head. Do you see liquid gas coming out? (If yes then the carb. float is sticking/leaking and letting gas into the combustion chamber)Simple fix remove carb and clean it or at worse change the needle and seat if the float not leaking). If you don't see no gas spraying out then I would look at all the switches, this includes the elect blade clutch switch (make sure it pushed in)the steer handles (pushed all the way out so the activate the switches that will keep the engine from starting, the brake is set (switch has to activate with brake set for engine to start, and last the seat switch (your butt has to be in the seat for the switch to be activated. If it still don't crank then I would check the cables from the battery to the starter and from battery to ground. if thats OK, then I would get me a multimeter and start checking all the safety switches mentioned above (they are on and off switches very easy to check, either they alowing current or not). If it still don't start I would find somebody that's willing to look at it. some things I would do I'm sure others will have more suggestions.

You need a schematic of your whatever it is you have so you know if the switch is normally closed, normally open or some combination thereof for multiple contact switches. Than you use a volt/ohm meter, test light or other means to verify the switch is doing what it's supposed to be doing under the condition thereof contained within itself to be determined upon continuation of various test procedures certified to be correct by the universal test procedure committee to be selected by a majority of the voters present unless properly certified proxies have been registered by the ad hoc select panel at their predetermined meeting to be selected at a date to be announced through the "normal" channels. Don't be so vague!

Hi all, We have a Pearl whirlpool bath/shower set up. Its about 10 years old, with very little use to the Whirlpool, which is on its second pump. The first one needed replaced around the 2nd year. :( Anyhow....I decided to clean the tubing/tub and use it again. I began filling the tub. I was to fill it 2" above the highest jet. I noticed the start/stop button began flashing, but thought I just wasn't remembering how it works. Then, when the water got above the highest jet, the jets started working. I pressed the on/off switch and it wouldn't respond. I let it run for 20 minutes, thinking it might turn off automatically (which it usually does).....but it didn't. I finally turned off the circuit breaker to that area. I opened the apron up and tried to test the GFCI that the pump is attached to, but its not working. My question is........why would the pump get stuck ON, if the GFCI was broken?? This is pretty disconcerting. I might have just been using the whirlpool, not noticing it was stuck on, and wouldn't have had the GFCI protection. :( Thanks for your help. P.S. Would there be a danger in using it for the shower now, as long as the pump is disconnected? How am I supposed to check that that GFCI is working? .........just maybe monthly see if I can trip it and reset it??

teh GFCI test button won't trip if the power is off. and if it were tripped, it would cut power. sounds like a sensor has gone bad to me. leave the breaker off and you do not have to worry about getting shocked, as there is no voltage to shock you. but still get someone to come check it out. if you have the book, call the support number in it and see if they know what the problem is, if nothing else they can tell you what to check or who to call.
