Leg of lamb

I've been buying lamb and boning it and cooking it on the bbq and it's been very good. I bought a bigger leg last week and cut it into 4 smaller pieces and cooked one the same way and it came out like the lamb I remember from a long time ago, very strong and I couldn't eat it. This stuff did not taste anything like the smaller and younger lamb. Do you think making a curry with or something like that will make it edible for my taste buds? I'm on the verge of feeding the rest of it to the dogs.
