Oh Dear! Will any of my Amaryllis be true to name this year? MAYBE I SHOULD just say, OK, here is my money, now send me this many bulbs, 3 of a kind! (But then they price them by 2 's, not 3's! WHat incredibly bad business even if the bulbs are healthy and I have beautiful flowers! What if I had planned these for a wedding and they came out salmon instead of pink, and cherry instead of lilac?!!!When I order flowers for a wedding and get them in bloom and they are the wrong color, we can run out and get others and refuse to pay for the bad ones...been there, done that! IF I had raise the flowers weeks in advance, I can not run out and find most of these for sale anyhow, let along how much more they would cost! HOw fortunate that this year we make up bouquets of what ever we have and deliver them to businesses and they will oooh and aaaah over anything different then those red and white ones in the supermarket!

Very pretty, Pat! I have some that color with daisy-like flowers which have just started opening. The darker ones look soon to follow. I could easily get addicted to these easy-to-grow autumn beauties! Brenda

Congrats, Megan! It's good to "hear" from you again - you haven't posted in quite a while, have you? I know that all the rain you've had in Texas and Oklahoma has kept the plants growing and thriving, which is the basis for us having butterflies - I hope you keep having plenty of rain, if not the floods you've sometimes had this year! I don't know about seedlings, as I bought mine 3 years ago as pips. The first year, one plant grew to about a foot tall and wide. All the others were about half that size. The second year, the large plant bloomed, with bloom stalks up to 7 feet tall. The other plants grew to about 9-10 inches high, but no blooms. This year, the one huge hollyhock had tons of bloomstalks (I thought they were biennial and dies after blooming?) and the smaller ones have each had one or two bloomstalks. Are hollyhocks perennials here?
