bighorn mts. waterfall

Hi,

I'm a newbie here; I'm spend most of my time wandering around the gardening forums. Here's a pic from one of my favorite backpacking destinations. Notice a second son at the top, right of the falls.

Joanmn, haven't I seen you over in the gardening forums also?

Nice photo. Looks refreshing after a long hike. Keep posting pics and maybe just a little larger format.

More excellent photos! That is such a diverse landscape. There are rocked areas, then some trees, waterfalls, grasslands, snow, and WOW, those are some really small flowers. Ah, beautiful untouched Wyoming! Wonderful to be able to visit again via your photos, Ron. I was thrilled to see so much snow all through the mountains when we flew over last January. (I think I'm the only person peering out her window, so excited. Everybody else is just anxious to get to Hawaii.)

Thank you all. It's easy to be a good photographer in such a beautiful place. To answer a few questions: Sharonfl...No sharing of the fish. We each had our own for supper that evening. Kathy...you're right Bill has never been a couch potato. He has been a farmer and the president of our local bank for over 30 years. Both full time jobs. I don't know how he did it. He is also a natural born storyteller. Some of you think I have a sense of humor, but, next to Bill I'm dull and boring. Not only did he keep us in fish but he also kept us in stitches around the campfire. patti43 and Gayle asked about other details and what we ate besides fish. Weight is critical. Breakfast is 2 packets of instant oatmeal. Lunch is trailmix and/or beef jerky. Supper is fish or instant side dishes. Ex. Lipton sides, usually a rice or pasta dish. If they require milk I add dried milk and then at camp increase the volume of water accordingly. Then we have a cup of hot chocolate in the late evening. Bill did bring along his insomnia medication. It doesn't come from a pharmacy. (Blackberry brandy) Thanks again. Ron

Welcome...we have fun sharing all kinds of photography...Hope you visit and post more...Garden was my fave forum until I became comfy doing gardening then...guess photography became the most visited so I could take pics of the garden...tehee...

The Bighorns are in north central Wyoming, the next mt. range east from Yellowstone. They're not nearly as overrun with people as yellowstone or the tetons but just as beautiful IMO. we park at the end of the road at about 9,000 feet and then hike in and up from there. If we see more than 8 people a day it's crowded. I leave on mon. for a week out there. can't wait.
