I love water drop pics and those are good!
Now, please, tell me how you did it.....light, appeture of camera, speed, etc and did you use a tripod?

The water in the second one looks more like mercury - how did you do that?

Thanks for the follow-ups. Alex, they are there all the time. I tried searching it on google, but was unable to find anything previous to my first post- I will look up "guttation" and see what I can learn about it. I don't see any aphids on the peach tree, but it is definitely sticky. I don't notice any damage to the young leaves, but I do have (perhaps from a caterpillar?) holes chewed in the leaves and bites otherwise taken out. This is my first time growing fruit trees, so I'm not really sure what the leaves on a peach should look like- they are generally folded together until they get larger and then unfurl and they have an arc shape to them (the spine arcs). Is this normal?

However, I would suggest that you choose a zone from the link below to put after your user name (edit your member page) and put FL as well. I will definitely be putting: string lights, an outdoor rug, some curtains, etc. I already have that mosaic table, and a colorful banner. Now, they already put a clear sealant on the wood. The color isn't my favorite but I may leave it that color for now and see if I can live with it. I do like the red color of the wood they used for the trim. I may paint the roof blue. And possibly stain the concrete. Am also thinking of a gel pad under the rug (the kind sold for where people stand a lot) for an exercise/aerobics area. Hot water heater doesn't seem to hold a lot of hot water

"When you think about it 40 gallons isn't a lot of water." I disagree. That is a lot of HOT water at 140Â°. If you were to draw it all down at 2.5 GPM, it would take 8 minutes. ThatÂs theoretical, because the way you draw it is to push it with COLD water. But thatÂs OK, because you arenÂt going to take too many showers at 140Â° Â one, maybe. So to make it comfortable, you mix in 40 gallons of water at say, room temperature, and now you have 16 minutes at 102Â°. All the time, the fire is burning in the heater. If you have not been drawing a quart of water from the bottom of your heater once a month (And I know you havenÂt.) then you may have a scale at the bottom. This fools the thermostat into thinking you have many gallons of hot water, when all you have is a thin scale of hot deposits. Pinoke

the light was just an overhead incandescent, iso 400, flash on, ev set to 0, f2.8...and no tripod was used...

i may have danced all around your question, as i am not yet really familiar with all the camera terms and meanings....

and as far as the second one lookin like mercury, i saw that in it as well....guess i just got lucky...i took about 40 pics total, and kept those plus one more out of the bunch...in particualr on the second one, i liked how the drops surrounding the impact point had a "lit up" appearance.

I love these photographs. What was the water contained in/by? Was it a glass bowl or a sink or a pond? Were you pouring water from above? Using an eye-dropper? A faucet?

they are in a black coffee mug of all things. i first tried the kitchen sink, and then used the shower to get a further fall and more splash. I believe these particular shots were in the shower stall...I started using a white cup, but after those turned out ridiculously bright, i went to black.

lol, valerie...so does this one....ive only been at this for a few weeks now, so im a total newbie....i got a sony cybershot dsc w30....first camera small enough to carry around and snap pics...my first two were HUGE so before this cam, all my pics were just special events that warranted draggin out those big things.

ive picked up a lot of good stuff from the internet, and got some good ideas from this forum as well! some of the pics that these people take are amazing!
