What city do you live in? Our tourists are doing all those things, too - in the mid-60's during the day, down to freezing by morning - we all have pnumonia! LOL!!!

Saw a robin day before yesterday. He was back today, along with a few house finches and goldfinches.

I still have a patch of snow on my back porch. Tomorrow is supposed to be a little warmer so maybe it will be gone then.

Spring has sprung.

Sue

My daffodils are popping up...how exciting. I love, love, love Spring!

Dottie

Yup, yesterday was gorgeous! Just like Spring. Went on a bike (bicycle) ride, and saw daffodils in bloom!

Makes my hear soar!

Today was pretty good too. Planted some bushes I bought last weekend, and did some yard clean up. Then stared a fire in the fire pit, and hung my hammock, took a blankie and a book out, and just enjoyed the morning/noon. When the sprinkles started I went in.

However, not much in sprinkles... and the fire kept going. Grilled some chicken on it later.

Nice....

This past week, we have been melting snow cover every day. We still have an average of 3 inches, but there is bare ground showing in places. Next to the house on the west side, I spied the tips of my first spring flowers. That would be the hyacinths.

My wife heard a phoebe - ridiculous - what's it going to eat? Its in the fly catcher family. We still have 75% snow cover.

Today, I heard a male cardinal sing for the first time since last year. He's staking out his territory.

Yesterday, I did not spy it, but I heard the distinctive call of a sand hill crane, the type of call they make on migatory flights.

A squirrel closely followed another squirrel, tailed if you will, for the better part of the day.

Location: Southern Wisconsin.

The plants and animals are pushing the limits. We've got some late winter yet to go, although the prediction is we'll see 50 F tomorrow.

A few collector cars have been appearing on the lots of two repair garages near my house.

I saw a motorcycle rider last week.

Today, a boy was skate boarding down main street - not on the sidewalk - out on the street.

The local police are catching more speeders. They seem to land right in their pockets this time of the year.

Southeastern Minnesota here.
Last Thursday it got up to 40 degrees; the first time in over 3 months. I saw a few people out in shirt sleeves and a couple guys wearing shorts. Spring is just around the corner.

Ron

Ron, I used to live in Minnesota - yep, some of those natives are goofy - I remember when it reached 40 degrees - LOTS of people wearing shorts and t-shirts, while under the ash pile, there was a layer of ice! LOL

Here in UK I have crocus, mini iris, snow drops and daffodils blooming. My tulips are about 6 inches tall. When I see the lambs in the fields then I know Spring is here. I love to watch them playing in the sun.
Diane

Snow is just about all melted. Just a little in the shade here. Long Island NY. We had 24 inches the end of ebruary. Still looking for my first robin.

Well, I guess I haven't been anywhere to see signs of spring except I heard from the kids there were lines at the car wash! Signs of spring here is mud!

Sue

Good Ole Central Indiana... Another beautiful sunny day today. We are to get rain most of the week. YUCK!! Oh well, it isn't the nasty white stuff.

Susie

I planted over 100 daylilies in October. In my zone, even with the harder than usual freezes so far, only a few froze back. Not to worry, they're popping up now and the ones that didn't freeze are getting quite large.

Also saw cardinals on they're way through over a month ago.

I thought I lost the ornamental grasses but I saw some green showing up yesterday.

Looks like the worst of the cold weather for me is over. Wishing all points north have seen the last of winter also. Unless, of course, you like all that snow.

It looks like we are going right from winter into summer. I was hoping this year we would have spring. It is supposed to be in the 80s this week. Too warm, too soon.I will admit that after this colder than normal winter and colder longer, that I am ready for some warm weather.

North Central Ohio.

The cardinals have been around for a couple of weeks. The finches, too. We saw the first three buzzards yesterday, tho, supposedly, if Hinkley, OH hasn't seen them, they aren't here yet. Yeah, right! About 2 weeks ago, I was VERY surprised to see two blue birds! I was stopped at a railroad track, and they zipped across in front of me. We still have 2-4 inches of snow, but lots of bare patches. Today's temp is supposed to be 49°. Tomorrow is in the mid 50's. I haven't walked thru the snow in the yard to see if there is anything peeking up in the flower beds.

Tami

The landscape guys rolled out my yard/sod the other day so we spent the weekend outside. The kids flew their kites and blew bubbles. We grilled several times and had our first picnic. I carried rocks for my flowerbeds. The daffodils I bought on clearance last fall are trying to pop out so I need to get them in the ground. There are all kinds of birds out in the yard.

Here is a sunset I captured from my back yard the other day.

I was driving back home about 1pm on I-80 Near Grand Island, NE this Sunday. In all my years of watching geese pass by I have never seen so many as I did that afternoon. As far as my eye could see north, south, east or west there were lines of geese flying northward. Hundreds of thousands of snow geese. I did declare spring was on it's way to my dd who was traveling with me. It was awesome!

The snow is melting here. We have had several days of 40s and some rain. Starting tomorrow we will have 4 days of rain. It is so nice to see my driveway and sidewalks again. I even found Jake's tie-out under the snow. He has been running free in the yard the past couple of months. By summer my backyard will be completely fenced and he can run free again.
